Thunder Valley Casino Resort

Friendly front desk team. Clean and modern room. Nice shower. The casino is large and fun. The cafe had good food. Easy online check-in, although they didn’t tell me when my room was available, which is the expectation they set. I would stay here again.

I always have the best time at thunder valley. And the winning never stops. I won two jackpots during my last visit. It’s my favorite casino.

Room was beautiful, clean, smelled very clean walking in, very impressed ❤️. Had dinner at the Thunder Cafe, great service and great food. Will definitely stay there again.

We went to a show at The Venue and spent a night at the hotel. The show and venue were great, we didn’t gamble but there were plenty of table games and slots to satisfy anyone, but I believe the real star of the resort is the hotel. EVERY staff member we came into contact with was a 5 star representative for the hotel. Check in, car valet, food room service, and housekeeping. All were courteous, timely, professional, and conversational. My only concerns were company policy. I made reservation in April 2025 for a show and a hotel stay in November 2025, but I got an email the day before that my reservation had been cancelled and that I would have to contact the hotel, which I did, because the credit card I used was compromised and replaced with a new number. The proper way to approach that was to call or text me to confirm with a current card not to cancel reservation first. I called and the hotel had to check to see if a room was still available, fortunately there still was one. The policy is the problem here, not the staff. The second problem I had was when I got a call about 5 hours after we checked out wondering if we had seen a plastic bag covering the smoke detector in the room. I told the person calling that my wife saw it and asked me why it was covered. To which I said I didn’t know. The caller than asked me if, in the future, I would call to inform the hotel of that issue. Apparently smokers cover the smoke detectors with plastic so they can smoke in a “non-smoking” room. I told the caller that I hadn’t smoked since October 12 1988 so it wasn’t us. After hanging up I found this a little disconcerting that the hotel expected me to police their no smoking policy. I believe that the vast majority of hotel guests have no intention of cheating the hotel, but that the casino floor policy of constantly looking for cheaters may have bled over into all resort policies. I sympathize with the resort or any business that has to deal with people intent on cheating them, but the hotel policy should be same as any other hotel. Again, I think that otherwise The Thunder Vally Resort hotel is one the finest and other than the policies I have mentioned, and well run in the Sacramento area.

This was a first time visit to this Resort and I must say it was really nice. The rooms were beautiful and the concert Venue was top notch as well as the employees that worked here were also a plus to the stay. Wanted to give a special shout out to the front desk young lady who did an amazing job during our full stay. There were a few things that came up (small things) in which needed a little attention and she made sure to be very proactive in providing good service to make sure we left happy. Thank you Ms. Christina for going above and beyond for our stay at the Resort.
