Matera is beautiful. Cool historic property in great location. Very comfy bed. Incredible views.

Service at restaurant extremely slow. Ate my entire breakfast before receiving my coffee both mornings.. Laundry facility was outside our room and workers were noisy at 2 am. Felt the price was high compared to other equivalent luxury properties we stayed at during our time in the Puglia region. Our initial impression was a "wow", but didn't hold up.

Dormir en una cueva es una experiencia singular e inolvidable. Lo negativo: El hotel prioriza la estética rústica sobre el confort básico que exige su alta tarifa. 1. Limpieza deficiente: La falta de luz provoca que el suelo se quede sin limpiar correctamente. 2. Iluminación impracticable: Falta un sistema de luces funcional para ver bien, más allá de la luz escenográfica. 3. Privacidad nula: La puerta del baño no tiene pestillo y se abre sola constantemente.

Our wedding trip to Puglia was unforgettable, and we are so glad we didn’t skip visiting the Sassi di Matera. Staying at Sextantio Le Grotte Della Civita made the experience even more special. The service was impeccable — truly above and beyond in every way. They had everything we needed, and the location was perfect: just steps away from wonderful dining, breathtaking views, and the magic of Matera itself. Spectacular hardly does it justice. The resort is incredibly unique, blending history, beauty, and comfort in such an unforgettable way. Our visit was far too short, and we only wished we could have stayed longer.
