Room was very warm when arrived due to sun through windows. Air conditioning seemed weak. Opening windows and closing drapes on south windows helped. Ice was down steep stairs.

We stayed in the upstairs apartment of a house across from the actual hotel. It was a quirky neat experience.

Great location with a great view of the Bluenose 2. I enjoyed everything but the parking. You have to park on the street. It is free on the street overnight but you have to pay in the daytime. You have to move your vehicle every morning at 8am or chance getting a ticket or run to the meter frequently to add coins. We moved ours at 8 to the paid lot across the street but you couldn’t stay in it overnight. It was a hassle bringing our luggage in and out because of the parking.

The property isn't welcoming to pets. Room appeared very clean with comforts of TV snd coffee machine. The check in was awkward-we had to walk through a restaurant with people eating lugging suitcases through the restaurant. We stood at the door for seeveral minutes holdiing bags not knowing where to go and eventually called out to staff. We tried asking restaurant customers but they said this is the Grand Banker which was true, but apparently also where you check in. Unfortunately there was a loud concert outside, abd I mean loud. I had ny 6 year old son with me so luckiky he slept anyways, but I drowned it out with lullaby music. If you dont mind the check in or music its a cute spot, and wonderfully close to the waterfront and so many restaurants.
