"Bliss at the top of a steep climb"

8.0

My daughter & I stayed here while on a bike tour from Dresden to Prague. For me, after a 40+ mile bike ride, the long trek up the steep hill (about 2 kilometers) was grueling (as I was also pushing my bicycle). However, there are 2 buses that stop on either side of the hotel, so presumably you can catch one at bottom of the hill. Once we arrived, the hotel was very good, including a large locked garage to store our bikes. Our double room was comfortable -- but loud, on the corner facing both the hotel terrace restaurant and the local eatery across the street. I recommend asking for a room facing the parking lot. The food at dinner was excellent; breakfast was good & plentiful but nothing particularly special. The surrounding hamlet is very small (only a couple of streets) and quite removed from Decin. Don't expect bright lights and nightlife (except on the hotel's terrace).

"It's worth the money!"

10.0

When we arrived the entrance door was locked, the only way to enter is with a key card. Just be aware if you plan to arrive late to the hotel. I reserved a junior suite well in advance however, when I arrived the room was taken. Receptionist stated she cancelled the reservation for no apparent reason. At least there was a standard room available. Staff was friendly, only 1 person spoke English. Dinner was exceptional and was < than $35 for 2 people, it included 2 salmon entrees plus a salad and potatoes, two .5L beers and a latte. Breakfast was tasty and provided all the basics; meats, cereals, cheese, breads, juices, scrambled eggs, bacon, yogurt and fruit. Overall good service with the exception of not receiving the room I reserved and was guaranteed by Hotel$.com.

"could be better"

6.0

This hotel is very nicely appointed, and the staff is friendly. The food and the beverages at the restaurant are very good both for breakfast and dinner. However, "nicely appointed" seems to have been the focus here with little thought for convenience. The first problem is the bed: it consists of two distinct frames and two distinct mattresses with the result being that it is very inconvenient for two people to sleep in because, although, this is a double room, each guest winds up sleeping on a very narrow single bet. The mattress is very good, though. Then, the shower head: it is fixed squarely in the middle of the shower stall making soaping up an exercise in contortion. Third, the reception, on arrival at about 5 pm there was no one there and a note directing guests to go to the restaurant for room keys. No one at reception in the morning either. This in a hotel that displays 4 starts on its facade. Four, the Internet connection is slow. In general, the hotel creates the impression of being a young architect's graduation project, pretty but not user-friendly.

"Not a pleasant stay"

4.0

We had room 9 in this less than four star hotel. Whilst the spa and the space age lift might be set up for five stars the rest of the hotel would struggle as a three star. The location is several kilometres out of town centre from Decin without the benefit of a more remote location. Whilst we were there roadworks were being done on the access road which led to delays. We also found the hotel was located on a surprisingly busy back road. Because of the hill gradient traffic was always heard revving its engines as it flew by. There was also a bus stop out the front. Needless to say the soundproofing was poor. The room itself was a reasonable space. Some of it felt newly renovated but other parts felt old and tacky. It had a twin bed with flat uncomfortable pillows. There was no air conditioning which made for an uncomfortable stay with several 30 degree days. Opening the window did little to cool the room but it did increase the neighbouring noise. Nor does the curtain block out much of the light. There is a small balcony but it only overlooks the carpark. The bathroom seemed brand new with a double shower and rain shower but there was limited shelf space and the bathroom amenities were not replenished during our two night stay. There was complimentary water and a good free wifi signal. The restaurant was a real let down. The breakfast buffet was rather tired. They did not unlock the door until dead on time and even then they were still preparing the buffet. However our biggest hate was the pampering to smokers. Rather than kick them outside or at least give them a separate smoking room, they were simply ushered to the other half of the restaurant and smoked there. This clogged the air in the entire restaurant and ruined our one dinner dining experience here. Staff were equally uninterested and thankfully did not ask if we had a pleasant stay.

"pleasant place to stay"

8.0

A small friendly hotel half way up a steep hill, as you travel west out of Decin, so not ideal for walking up unless just taking a leg stretch, nearby sites are reachable by car only, rooms with balconies overlook carpark, not ideal but outlook is towards the nearby forests (room 9), food is simply prepared but delicious, small and comprehensive wine list, dining room well patronised by locals, so nice ambience, health spa which was part of the booking deal so effectively free use, well appointed and relaxing. We booked a two hour slot!!!! Bliss! For a couple of nights en route from Dresden towards Austria, well worth stopping here for a relaxing and restorative break.

"Best in Decin"

8.0

I have seen many reviews, but Zlata Lipa is probably the best hotel in region. Classic building from the outside, but modern from the inside. Fantastic wellness, too bad it has small sauna and steam room. Pool looks great, but water was colder than I expected, jacuzzi the same problem. Rooms ok, but if you want to have real romance, you have to pay for the expensive "de luxe" rooms. Standard seems to me little bid overpriced. Great dining and great friendly "family" atmosphere, helpful staff.

"Lovely getaway"

10.0

The hotel is a little way out of Decin but with a car it was no problem to find. We had a Standard double room which meant that we had 2 single beds pushed together which was the only negative about the stay. Other than that, it was brilliant. The room itself was a good size and the bathroom was clean and smart. We ate in the hotel every evening as we were so impressed with the quality of food and the very reasonable prices! Between 10-12 every day we used the spa facilities for free which was a huge bonus. We booked massages before we arrived and were able to use the spa after the massage too. The Zen Spa was small but beautiful and very well looked after. It was a real credit to the hotel. Breakfast was good with a nice selection of breakfast foods. We used the hotel as a base to travel the local area and see the many sights of the mountain range near by. I would definitely stay again and I have already recommended it to friends.

"Another great find !"

10.0

The Zlata Lipa Hotel is a lovely, well appointed Hotel in a residential area of Decin. It a good five minute drive from the town centre up a steep wooded hill. My husband and I booked the hotel the night before our arrival and were delighted with the facilities. The Spa pool was lovely; serene and finished to a very high standard. The room was very comfortable with ample space for our motorbike gear and afforded us a good night's sleep. The en-suite facilities were spotless with a big shower cubicle and powerful shower. We eat in the attached restaurant that evening and had a great meal with very attentive staff. Breakfast the following morning was excellent with the best warm croissants of our whole holiday ! The Zlata Lipa was a real treat and would recommend a visit.

"Hotel for active turists and qality service reques"

10.0

This excelent hotel is located in an area from where the majoritiy of Chech and Saxsen natural beauties are easily reachable. the staff of a hotel is very kind and a guest gets a filling of a real guest. Each guest will be possitively surprised on the accommodation and on the kind staff for a reasonable price. We did not find some details that could be criticised. The hotel is worth to be revisited and we will surely reccommend it to all colleagues and friends.
