Klein Waterval Riverside Lodge

kleines gästehaus am bach ca. 15 km außerhalb franchhoek, inmitten eines schönen gartens und stillgelegter weinberge personal war sehr nett und hilfsbereit standartzimmmer nr.4 war sehr klein, kaum platz für gepäck, keine steckdose in reichweite für den teekocher ,wasser mußte auf dem boden erhitzt werden, auch in spiegelnähe keine steckdose zum haarefönensches bäder waren leider auch noch im urzustand im ver gleich zu anderen gästehäusern die wir auf unserer 3 wöchigen reise kennengelernt hatten leider zu teuer pool war leider nicht in gutem zustand, kein filtersystem , alles in allem nicht einladend

Staff were brilliant, and extremely helpful, from local information to booking restaurants and arranging drivers they were awesome. If we'd had more time wed have done a bit more relaxing poolside. Its a very personal space which makes it easy to talk with other guests which you don't get in big hotels. If you're gregarious and like to mingle a bit I'd fully recommend it.

Familiärer und freundlicher Service zeichnen diese Hotel, eine umgebaute Farm aus. Liegt an der Verbindungsstraße Franschoek/Paarl, gut 8 km vor Franschoek. Die Betreiber sind extrem freundlich und hilfsbereit. Leider wird in der Unterkunft kein Abendessen angeboten, so dass man nach Franschoek fahren muss. Die Reservierungen werden von den Inhabern vorgenommen, auf deren Empfehlungen man sich verlassen kann.

Good stay. Slightly outside Franschoek so a car or taxi needed for the evening if you wanted to enjoy a glass of wine but well placed for visiting places of interest within the area. Bathroom could do with an update.

Vi hade en bra vistelse. Hotellet ligger in så nära centrum eller restauranger men det ligger väldigt mysigt bland vinodlingarna. Personalen var mycket hjälpsam och hjälpte oss med bokning av bord för kvällen och vi fick stanna kvar efter utcheckning och sol och bada vid poolen. Rekommenderas för lugn atmosfär.

Excellent stay, peaceful, clean, short ride into town.

A lovely small Inn with a classic winelands Cape Dutch look and feel. Located overlooking vineyards just outside Franschoek. A quiet setting with a very nice pool and breakast service. A perfect place to settle in after a day visiting the extraordinary vineyards and restaurants of the area.

This place was just brilliant for us. We had just had 2 nights in a v top hotel in Cape Town and wanted to go more BnB. This place is large, slightly run down, has its faults, but is absolutely brilliant. We will be back. It was a very African stay. Thatched rooms, full of character, cool even in 35 degree heat, large central fan not air con. The owner was great to talk to and the two Parson Jack Russells are full of character and very friendly. Even a big dog lover was won over. So, if you like quirky, can accept the odd small fault, then this place is brilliant and a must. If you are one of those who complains at anything - then stay elsewhere. Planning to go back next year. Oh and Franschoek, is excellent and do go walking in the La Rochelle nature park - the views are wow.

Although we were the only guests at the hotel because it was winter we were treated very well. We arrived late and were shown to our bungalow room overlooking the beautiful Franschoek mountains. We drove into the town which was quite dead at 8pm but had a sumptious meal at Reubens in the town which was excellent and original. Enza the manageress could not have been more helpful to us the next morning as she recommended a place we could stay near Hermanus to see the whales which was stunning. The hotel is simple, clean and well situated. It is near the Solms Delta farm which is really interesting to visit as it is a cooperative venture with an interesting museum giving the history of the farm and its inhabitants. Klein Waterval is a great place to explore this exsquisite area.
