Stunning building if you like old architecture. Really done in a good way and extremely comfortable in an informal way with use of the kitchen and fridges. Staff great, very comfortable room, great pool and superb breakfast. Loved everything ❤️

We are so glad to have chosen Melanie's wonderful property for our last nights in Cape Town. The atmosphere was incredibly homey and welcoming, making it feel more like a comfortable home than a hotel. Everything was spotless and well maintained, which really added to the overall experience. The staff were exceptional—friendly, attentive, and always willing to help with a smile. The breakfast was delicious and fresh. It felt like we were staying at a family member's home, honestly. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a clean, cozy place to stay in Cape Town.

The staff is super friendly and service minded! The location is great, on a quiet street but really close to the beautiful beach walk along Clifton beaches and Camps Bay. The building is charming with its old character, it offers a large swimming pool and a super cosy breakfast terrace. Would definitely recommend staying here!

It’s more of a 3 star nice guesthouse converted from old house than a 5 star hotel there was good and bad to this place. I originally had free cancellation reservation for over Christmas and missed the time to cancel by a few hours (a month before my travels might I add) but I was told that I couldn’t possible cancel, only change my reservation dates (even though someone else filled the booking) but despite paying Christmas rates for a now weekend in January I was still pleased with the house, beautiful old house at the top of a steep hill lots of charm, period features and very clean. That leads me on to the bad, unfortunately the place has no air con and hasn’t quite been converted to hotel standards so you can hear every time a floorboard creaks upstairs etc, we got woken up at 04:00 just by ppl coming in and I’m a heavy sleeper.. this didn’t bother me so much though. What did frustrate me however is feeling very much like a guest in someone’s house and feeling a bit scrutinised. I had a baby with me, the high chair provided didn’t have secure straps but I was made to feel that’s my problem then I used my travel high chair but the owner was fussing over what placemats I used under the baby’s late because the decorative ones were too difficult to clean and the tables difficult to clean etc etc then I wasn’t allowed to stray my travel chair to the chairs because it might dirty the upholstery etc All in all just made mealtimes uncomfortable it’s just not a place for kids. There is no proper lights in the room only dim lights Staff are lovely and the pool is decent so we still had a nice time, low rating mainly because it was advertised online as a 5 star hotel and the amenities listed are misleading for example the say they have a bar but it’s drinks in a communal fridge you can buy, the beach a long walk up a steep hill and the massage is someone offsite but all this wouldn’t be an issue if it was just advertised in a more transparent way.

Room shutters had to be closed as sun comes in then for privacy at night and to allow breeze so wouldn’t recommend the downstairs room but I’m sure the upstairs ones have a nice view. I didn’t take photos here as the only grand thing was the big New Zealand Christmas tree in the front garden … what I would say though is staff are very attentive and informative so good for travellers needing recommendations and advice on local road closures etc
