My experience at Hostal Mar del Plata was terrible and, frankly, hostile. We made a last-minute reservation just two hours before arriving, with check-in expected by 7:30 PM. We arrived only 10 minutes later — at 7:40 PM — and found ourselves completely locked out, with no access to the room and no support offered. We didn’t explicitly ask for the key to be left in their key box outside, but any reasonable host could have anticipated this and taken a simple, cost-free initiative — especially after noticing we hadn’t arrived by the expected time. Instead, the hotel ignored the situation entirely and later responded with a shockingly aggressive and inappropriate message, even including a bizarre and offensive comment: “Slavery in the cotton fields is over in Spain.” This was in reference to the idea of putting key in a key box. The message also included a scolding lecture on “respecting working hours” , "being an adult" and “taking responsibility,” We were still charged the full amount for a room we never accessed and had to find another hotel late in the evening. Our refund request was denied outright — despite the fact that our last-minute booking caused no loss or cost to the hotel. Tourists are clearly not welcome here.

Très pratique à côté de l’aéroport. Proche de la plage et de commerces !

1. C'est le seul hôtel où on m'a demandé 100€ de caution à payer 3 jours avant mon arrivée...je ne l'avais pas lu ça sur Booking. 2.Le lit pas du tout confortable, matelas et sommier catastrophique et très bruyant dès que l'on bouge! En tout cas pour notre chambre. 3.Les fenêtres pas du tout insonorisées qui laissent passer tout le bruit à toute heure. 4.On a découvert une petite ouverture dans la salle de bains par laquelle on voit étrangement la salle de bains du voisin..pas très intime 5.La déco est assez vieillotte et mériterait un coup de frais.
