Hotel Bulla Regia

Just back from a lovely stay at Bulla Regia. We thought we'd find it too quiet when we first arrived, as there is very little in Fontane Bianche. There are very few restaurants and no proper shops, just tiny tourist ones. And no central town square or area to explore. But once we'd settled in, we realised that this was a plus, as the resort lacked the noise of Syracuse And was a great base from which to explore. Syracuse hotels seem smaller and without a pool too Plus points - very clean and quiet. Nice size rooms with empty minibar for your supplies.Great air con. Very friendly and helpful staff who gave us plenty of info about where to eat and local transport. On the down side, it felt a bit basic in some areas. Breakfast was disappointing, no hot food, only one type of ham, cheese and bread, all of which were low quality. They dont seem to know how to get water hot enough for tea, but were v charming when they tried. And there is definitely no bar! The noise from a disco nearby was annoying but nothing that a pair of earplugs could not cure! Nearby restaurants- la campannina da gino is v nearby and a great find. Try the pasta norma, all the fish and the local desert, caponata. Sayonara by the beach is good too, especially for pizza Trips-car is probably best but we managed well on public transport. Syracuse/Ortiga, Taormina Modica and Noto especially are all worth a visit Sicily is a stunning and beautiful island and we were sad to leave but happy to have stayed here

The structure is pleasant, well-kept rooms, spacious and comfortable. Friendly and helpful. Good breakfast. For those who prefer the beach to the pool, the lido Sayonara is just thirty meters, excellent structure. Shortly indicated for those who do not have car, Siracusa, Noto, the Villa del Tellaro are nearby with their art treasures.

Our room didn't feel clean .we don't have high expectations but this hotel didn't feel like if was clean. For breakfast, go abit later , we went early one day and there wasn't much choices and the next day we woke up late, and we noticed more selections. Eg. Eggs .. Service was OK, they don't speak English so its good to be aware. The beach is public, about 5 min walk and its beautiful. Clear water and amazing scenery. Food ,can't comment on ,we drove to nearby towns to explore and ate there. I would have given it a 5 star if the room was clean, even the breakfast area didn't feel clean to us. Also no WiFi in the room, only the lobby area. The pool area also not bad, we didn't swim but rested by it. U can get WiFi there. Not sure if I would stay here again .. If ur not that picky about the place being clean , u wouldn't mind it.. As I said, we don't have high expectations, and we know we didn't come to a five star hotel.. Been in Italy long enough to know this hotel wasn't good.

Great price, great location. Highly recommend. We needed to stay at this hotel because the beach house we were supposed to stay at had no air conditioning. This place was recommended to us by a very knowledgeable relative who lives there. PROS: The rooms are well air conditioned, nice pool, great friendly service (especially Guiseppe), good internet access in the lobby, nice little free breakfast, plenty of parking and very close to the beach. The CONS: rooms are small, and the showers are super small, Internet is weak in the rooms, no bar or restaurant, pool is closed for huge chunk of the hottest part of the day for nap time. Overall this is an excellent place.

We stayed at this hotel in June. Perfect location! The hotel is only 100 mt from the sea. The rooms are spacious and there is also a big pool. Guiseppe is very friendly and helpful, he gave us a lot of info. The ideal place to spend some relaxing days.

Spent 2 nights here. Great welcome and excellent service throughout. Clean rooms, nice pool, good breakfast. You can argue about distance to the beach, still just a 4 min walk away, so very nearby. Small reasons for not giving 5 stars: Internet only in reception area and hotel nearby with noisy entertainment until midnight. Apart from that: highly recommend if you're looking for a relaxing couple of days!

new hotel, well air conditioned, IKEA furniture not my style but practical without any doubt, good and various breakfast but 1) In the middle of nowhere (Fontane Bianche is not a town, neither a small one: there is a bar, 2 restaurants and a tobacco/magazines shop); it is a good place to get to Ragusa, Siracusa, Noto (marvellous places) but roads are bad. So it is expensive compared to location-services offered. 2) It is written on booking that with 30€ you can have a dinner: there was no restaurant. 3) It is written on booking the hotel is on the beach: it is not true. It is on a road that drives to a beach (500/800 metres): very near but not on the beach
