Baymont by Wyndham Hannibal

I appreciated the staff workiung in the frigid temperatures. You can't deny that type of commitment. I also didn't think about exploring all of the ammentites, but I will next time. Thank you!

We didn't actually stay at the Wyndham. It was just me and my daughter for a swim meet that weekend, and we thought the location might be safe because of reviews. It was not. We waited over 20 minutes for someone to come to the front desk. I used the phone on the front desk to call for help several times as indicated on the sign on the desk. But the phone the desk attendant was supposed to have was ringing behind the desk on the charger, with no one around to answer it. By the time someone came to help us, he didn't seem at all like he wanted to be there. When we got our key and went to our room, it was around a very creepy side of the building where it looked extremely rundown. Our room door was just inches away from the neighboring room's door, which a group of about 5 people appeared to be trying to break into. It was locked from the inside, and their belongings were outside on the sidewalk, slightly blocking our room door. I noticed one of the individuals had a teardrop tattoo on their face, and more than one individual's behavior appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. I drove my daughter back to the front parking lot because we didn't feel safe. I went inside to try to return the room key so that we could go to another hotel, and the desk attendant was once again gone. I threw the keys on the desk and left and went to another hotel. I'd ideally like a refund for our stay since we never actually stayed there.

The room was exactly what I expected and needed with 2 small dogs to manage. Parking was perfect, right outside my door, a great outside area to walk the dogs, a location easy to find and to get around Hannibal from as well as near the highway. Breakfast in the morning exceeded my expectations based on my experiences with other Motel 6 stays.

The facility as a whole appeared to be in the process of some kind of renovation. It is a very large property and clearly at one time (when it was open beginning in the early 60s, from photos I saw) a very active family motel with a restaurant and lounge, large indoor pool and family party areas, billiard room, tennis court, playground, but none of that exists now and the pool, although aerators were on, had no heat and was closed anyway. At present only about 1/4 of the rooms are available. The rest of the facility including an outer wing facing the highway was closed off in various states of disrepair. There was ostensibly a laundry room but that too was unavailable. Mostly I felt sad at the deterioration of its former glory. On-site staff were hard to reach for assistance, for a facility of that size I think there were only 2 or 3 ppl present at most: desk clerk and maintenance. The AC/heating unit in my room was not insulated and sealed from the below-freezing temps outside, so I was able to borrow a small space heater for the first 2 days until the room unit was able to keep the room comfortable. I stuffed some items into the space around it until I left to resume my trip.

Updated older hotel. Room had fresh paint and new flooring . Very friendly and helpful staff. A new streaming TV System with new large screen smart TV.

Room was clean and beds were comfortable! Also a blessing they were pet friendly

Room was hard to get warm

The breakfast was good. Attendant was on top of making sure everything was hot and stocked.

There were cockroaches on the door. There were stains on the comforter. The pool was missing over a foot of water. The gym machine almost crushed my husband.

Vending machines didn't work
