Candlewood Lodge

Candlewood Lodge is in the hills above Knysna and therefore is peaceful and has amazing views of the lagoon & the Knysna heads. The staff here without exception are amazing. Nothing is too much trouble and they are friendly, courteous and always extremely professional. The rooms are stunning with all you could ask for. Even a yoga mat which I used every day. (Every hotel room should have them) The bathroom had a huge walk in shower with lovely toiletries provided. Air con in the room which was much needed in early January. Breakfast was part buffet and part fresh cooked. Such interesting choices too. Or make your own up. On one night, at our request, they prepared a 4 course evening meal. As long as they have enough people they will do this. An incredible 5 star meal - beautifully served and beautifully presented. Laythan the manager was wonderful. Always ready to offer help, advice on things to do, book a taxi and chat over your day. What a welcome on arrival, sitting us down for a much needed drink and a biscuit. Well done on how he’s managing the hotel and the staff. It’s a very happy place.

Wunderschöne Zimmer mit toller Aussicht, bequeme Betten, sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal

Die Unterkunft ist wunderschön – das Zimmer war sehr großzügig und bestens ausgestattet. Die Candlewood Lodge verfügt über einen Pool sowie eine herrliche Terrasse, auf der das Frühstück serviert wird. Normalerweise frühstücken wir selten in Unterkünften, aber das Frühstück hier war so unglaublich gut und hochwertig, dass wir es jeden Tag genossen haben. Auch das Neujahrsdinner war super lecker. Auch die Lage ist großartig: Man kann sich bestens zu Fuß bewegen (auch bei Nacht) und erreicht wunderschöne, nicht überlaufene Strände und Wälder in wenigen Fahrminuten. Das gesamte Team ist sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend und super organisiert. Urs, der Besitzer, ist ein großartiger Mensch, der viele Tipps zur Umgebung gibt. Außerdem erzählte er uns seine beeindruckende Auswanderungsgeschichte sowie über das Land. Wir hatten sehr inspirierende Gespräche – vielen Dank dafür!

Urs and his team are simply fabulous. We felt like coming home! As a guest at Candlewood Lodge you feel very special!It starts with the arrival when your name is displayed at the front door, written in white in the window, the glass of wine to welcome you, the information what to do and where to eat around the area. The rooms are beautiful, the breakfast is sensational and sometimes the guesthouse even cooks dinner for the guest, which was amazing! Urs has a fantastic wine selection from all over South Africa. We were very happy there and our next stay in Knysna will definitely be at Candelwood Lodge. Thank you to the entire team!

Sehr zuvorkommendes Personal. Überragendes Frühstücksbuffet mit großer Auswahl an allem was das Herz begehrt. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber, toll ausgestattet und hatte ein sehr schönes Bad. Der Wohnbereich lädt zum entspannen ein
