Good location for public transport and near Gatwick Airport. Helpful friendly staff

The single room was fairly small but ok for a short stay

The host at reception was very welcoming and nit only answered all of our questions but also gave us many valuable advices on how to get around and what to do during our stay at the hotel

It would have been very helpful if staff posted description or notified guests in advance on how to get to the hotel from Gatwick airport by different mode of transportation. For instance we were gouged by Uber and paid $58.00 CAD for less than 5 minutes ride while bus ride would cost us around $3.00 CAD for each passenger

The old corner house hotel

Tired and drab decoration where pictures had been removed, cracked mirrors, bare walls, no character. The bedroom was freezing with no heating, asked for it to be put on, told it would take about 20mins but it never came on. Towels were frayed. Lack of any atmosphere, TV not on in the bar no guests, never seen it like that in 17 years of using it. Thankfully the only two staff present were two lovely people that have been there years. Worst of all we were emailed two weeks before our stay and told the name had changed but everything else was the same, not the case no first night free parking anymore, in fact increased parking costs, no shuttle, adding a further £40 for taxis to our stay. Nobody on the reception on early morning checkout obviously, as no early morning shuttle! We had had many happy, welcoming stays at the old corner house, that I'm sure was a good business, we had recommended so many people there, now I'm afraid it is not the same, all the warmth has gone and we certainly won't be returning, but then I'm sure the new owners are trying to run it down so that it can't be classed as a loss of a viable business when they change it to a much more lucrative HMO!

Location Near Ye Olde Six Bells pub

All good

Very comfortable self contained downstairs unit. Staff warm and friendly and offered to store our heavy baggage near reception. Location ideal with easy walk to local pub which receptionist recommended. Highly recommend this Hotel very convenient for Gatwick, and excellent customer service. Definitely stay there again if travel through Gatwick.
