Wrights by the Sea Motel

I booked mostly for the location, but the motel was really good. The owner was super helpful and friendly. I booked for access to the golf course, but it's close to the beach and shops also.

Location isn’t bad but we didn’t manage to stay there as our ferry was cancelled and we were totally unable to get there for at least another 3 days, due to crossing availability! I phoned them 27 hours before we were due - as soon as we were notified of ferry cancellation and they took 50% charge off credit card immediately! I had a new card so didn’t work and invoice was in our email within minutes. We were rather shocked at his attitude! We were upset at that time anyway - this attitude didn’t help. Would not consider booking there again. Wonder how they would feel if we has to extend our stay due to being unable to travel south? We now have to pay for extra nights in South Island as well as this - not happy.

Great location

The room stink of smoke, the bed was horrible should have been replaced twenty years ago. Leaky tap in bathroom dripped all night. Overhead units were very noisy as well.
