Beckford Inn

From the minute of arrival we were delighted with the hotel. Excellent parking and a warm welcome from extremely courteous staff members who were ready to help. We were shown to our superb room which was delightful. very clean and spacious with the added benefit of a very efficient cooling unit working to keep the room cool during this extreme heat wave. Lovely bathroom as well. Very clean. We ate evening meal outside in a beautiful spacious garden with plenty of shade and seating. Good food promptly served from a comprehensive menu. Very comfortable bed and a good night's sleep despite the intense heat everywhere. Superb breakfast from an equally comprehensive menu. Lots of choices. Very promptly served. We were very happy with our one night stay, would certainly go again and would very highly recommend. Thank You to all staff.

Menu choice was poor

Everything was cosy, with a great atmosphere, staff were very helpful

It wasn't there fault but the water pump broke down, the noise was unbearable, they had to turn it off, so there wasn't any cold water We had showered so no problem the manager gave us a complementary breakfast, which was unexpected and very kind of them,

Friendly staff with a good welcome on arrival. Good size area for breakfast and meals. Nice outside seating area if weather ok.

No lift to upstairs rooms. On a busy road so sometimes difficult to drive out of the car park.

The way they presented it well. Can tell effort has gone in to set room up with radio on and fan and lights. Fridge with milk and cookies nice too.

The extraction fans for the rooms seem to do this really loud random mechanical noise quite frequently. Luckily it stopped mostly over night but did start again at 5.45. Need to look into what that is and why it does it as very loud. Can hear in corridor and in other rooms too. Shower nearly overflowed too and dripped over night . Bathroom looking dated now

Lovely setting and location. Quality of breakfast was very good - once we got it ! Spacious car park.

The bathroom 'macerator' kept on going off on its own accord from around 6am onwards and never really stopped, even though the toilet was not in use at the time. Really annoying and very noisy, unable to sleep. Breakfast service was slow once we had ordered, when it arrived my 'cold' starter and 'hot' omelette arrived at the same time, so to ensure the omelette didn't go cold I asked for it to be kept warm, then I didn't see it for another 20 minutes !

Express check in. Spotlessly clean room and bathroom. Hot shower and strong water pressure. Tea and coffee making facilities and fresh water provided daily. Also, fresh milk. Very nice breakfast options, nice dining area and the lady that served breakfast was very friendly and efficient. Nice to be able to relax in the downstairs lounge room.

We were in the Alston Room and there was an electric water pump that activated very often in the day and occasionally at night. We are good sleepers so tolerated it but if you are a light sleeper or easily distracted please avoid this room! If it were not for this issue we would have rated everything excellent! I’m sure that if the hotel was able to change this plumbing arrangement they would.
