Beautiful property only a few minutes from downtown Highlands. This historical property was refurbished with mid century design furnishings. The Oak Steakhouse is outstanding….well worth the splurge! The only small criticism is the carpets need cleaning and the bath amenities need checking before someone occupies a room. We will return!!!!!

Sewage smell from neighboring property, musty room

My husband and I both left SO sick from the previously flooded rooms on the lower level ridge view rooms. Beyond sinus pain. It’s been a horrible week for one night stay.

Unfortunately the stench of raw sewage knocked several stars from my rating. It appears the age of the hotel is taking a toll on the waste management systems. We have stayed at the hotel many times before and it has never been an issue. The rooms near the pavilion are cursed with a strong stench of raw sewage. The once excellent restaurant has suffered in quality as well. I would still recommend this place provided your room is far from the pavilion area.

Just beware in the summer the sewage tanks are on the outside area by restaurant and you can smell them in the heat!!

This was a perfect stay. Very relaxing. Above and beyond staff. Very hospitable. Love the MCM vibe of the entire property.

The staff was very personal! Quiet and relaxing atmosphere!
