American Hotel

Clean, well-appointed room.

This is an historic building that has been modernized. That means there is a central staircase that allows sound to travel to the upper floors, and little sound-proofing between rooms. However, the room was quite comfortable - we had a king bed and a couch. The bathroom shower had three showerheads! One on the ceiling and one each on opposite walls - nice when showering alone or together ;) There is free parking in the back, and we were able to walk to a restaurant on the block for dinner, and then to a different one for brunch. We would definitely stay here again if we needed to stay in the area.

Very nice hotel… great stay!

Recently attended an evening show that was held at the American Hotel. They applied an automatic 20% tip to the bill for food service during the event. We found the service to be extremely lacking from start to finish and were ignored for the most part throughout the entire event.

The room was dirty. The shower had black mold on the shower head

The front desk staff was incredibly friendly and the room was huge, clean, and comfortable

Second time around and I love this boutique vintage style hotel. It has a nice restaurant and bar. A few event rooms for parties and or wedding. Entertainment available, check the calendar. Room was clean and nice size tv. They still offer complimentary drink tickets upon arrival. It's romantic!

Love this quaint gem!

Overall very clean and conviently located. However the view from most rooms is overlooking a roof of an adjacent building. No gym.
