Hyatt House Virginia Beach is a beautiful property and one of my favorite Hyatt House locations. What stood out the most was the staff, especially Enrique, Rena, Kate, and Cami at the front desk. During my long-term stay, they made the hotel feel like home. They always made sure I received my mail, kept me stocked with supplies, provided waters daily, and checked in by asking how my day was or what my plans were. Before I left, they even wrote me a departure card and wished me the best of luck, which meant a lot. Their kindness, professionalism, and personal attention made me feel more like family than just another guest. I had an amazing stay and look forward to coming back in the fall.

Location was the only good thing, the breakfast was below average, the break staff kept interrupting our meals every few minutes asking if we were done eating or if they can pick up the food on our table which we were clearly eating, happened both the days we were staying, they're were dogs and dog fur flying and sticking on our clothes. The hotel had a weird bad smell. Overall not a pleasant experience.

Hiding fees checking in we did have to pay an extra $164.00 upfront but after checking out we did receive $80 back the very next morning just wish they could of been more clear about the fees., breakfast was terrible we stayed 4 days and it was the same nasty food everyday for $1800 it could of been better.

Absolutely ridiculous experience at this so-called “pet-friendly” hotel during Memorial Day weekend. Do not advertise yourself as pet friendly if your staff and management clearly cannot handle the reality of guests traveling with dogs. We chose this hotel specifically because we travel with our small dog everywhere. She is part of our family. One night we went out for dinner and could not bring her because the restaurant did not allow pets. While waiting for our food, we started getting phone calls from the hotel because apparently someone complained that our dog was barking. Are you serious? It is a PET-FRIENDLY hotel. What exactly do people expect to hear there? Complete silence? Dogs bark sometimes. That comes with staying at a hotel that allows pets. If someone cannot tolerate hearing a dog bark for a short period of time, maybe they should book a hotel that does NOT allow animals instead of ruining everyone else’s vacation. What made this even worse was the way the staff handled it. The front desk called first, and I already explained we were getting our food packed to-go and returning asap. Then the hotel manager decided to call again as if harassing guests during dinner was somehow “professional customer service.” It was Memorial Day weekend. Restaurants were busy. Food takes time. Common sense apparently does not exist at this hotel. Instead of handling the situation professionally, the manager treated us like we were doing something wrong for bringing a dog to a hotel that literally markets itself as pet friendly. Maybe management should spend less time bothering paying guests and more time learning what “pet friendly” actually means. And to the guest who complained if you read this: next time, try using your brain before booking a room. If hearing dogs bothers you so much, stay at a non-pet-friendly hotel. Problem solved. I have stayed at many pet-friendly hotels across the U.S. and internationally, and this was by far the worst experience I have ever had. The staff and the manager was unprofessional, and the entire experience completely ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing family getaway. If you are traveling with your fur baby, STAY FAR AWAY from this hotel unless you want to be treated like an inconvenience for simply having a dog.
