"Smelled bad"

Room looked clean, smelled terrible, like pets or mold, and smelt like they had tried to cover it with smell good stuff. When we woke in the morning, had terrible awful allergies and puffiness in eyes and face, so either severe pet dander or moldy air, but we didn’t even finish the rest of our stay, just changed hotels.
