The Talbot Hotel, Oundle, Northamptonshire

Great hotel, wonderful room excellent food.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at this historic hotel. Bedroom and facilities were excellent and staff were helpful, polite and efficient. Would recommend this hotel to anyone as first class.

A really lovely Hotel with very nice gardens in a lovely setting. We had an exec room which was great, had everything you could wish for and the bed was very comfortable. Only one small criticism that a mistake was made at breakfast and we waited over 45 minutes because the order was missed, but it can happen and it certainly didn't spoil our stay. We would return and I would reccomend the hotel and Oundle.

We like our stay a lot, the staff were very helpful. Breakfast was perfect. We did feel dinner was a let down.

Great location. Relaxed environment and welcoming and efficient staff. Good breakfast and clean rooms . Will use again.

Bathroom could do with modernising and the cooked breakfast was not to my liking. Expected better quality for the price paid. However, cleanliness and staff service were excellent. Our room was also topped up with water, biscuits and coffee, as we stayed 2 nights. So not all bad.

A delightful hotel in the centre of Oundle. Staff all very friendly and helpful. The only issue was the shower head over the bath. We had to sort out the height of shower head and angle. Must people these days use a shower, so a cubital shower would have been much better. We accept that might be difficult for families with small children so suggest keeping a few rooms with baths. Some tiles surrounding bath need the mould treatment. When doing future updates to bathroom, would suggest a larger space for guests to place 'wash bags' etc. Toiletries supplied were very nice. All in all, a very nice stay.

A fantastic historic hotel with a modern welcome that makes you feel the most important guest, no matter how short your stay. Friendly staff, great bar, .ovely restaurant and enchanting gardens in which to enjoy a quiet drink or lovely meal. A must place to stop over and experience the hospitality of team at The Talbot.
