Bay Motel By OYO Bay City

We expected to much. Didn't check it out close enough. No coffee maker, no microwave. Did have a mini fridge but blew circuit if used the air conditioner and hot tub. Only good part was the four person hot tub.

No bed bugs so that’s a plus I guess but the picture above the bed was upside down and it was annoying me the whole 2 nights It was outdated but you get what you pay for I guess Walls need to be cleaned

I prefer the "older" style of motor inns so that I can drive up to the office to check in, then drive and park just steps from my room so I had hopes for this property. The good: the bed was comfortable and the woman at check in was pleasant. The bad....checking in was like walking into a smoking den. The room was unbelievable. Of course, the decor was a mishmash but, for me, that's to be expected from a budget hotel. The wall a/c was quite literally probably 30 years old and very noisy, The bathroom had been remodeled so that the original shower opening had been reduced by 1/2 to allow installation of a tub, the overhead light had a covered conduit to get the wiring to the wall plug, there was a large cobweb swaying in the breeze, no coffee maker, the refrigeration wasn't even plugged in, and there's lots more. IMO if all the rooms were like the one I stayed in this property needs to be completely overhauled. I question why it's included on the Expedia website.

I prefer the "old fashioned" motor inns, being able to park at the door of the office to check in, and park at the door of my room. The outside of this property looked pretty good. In fact the bed was comfortable and the check-in staff was friendly. However....The office space was a wall of cigarette smoke. The room itself was jaw dropping. Of course the decor was mishmash, but that's ok as it is, after all, a budget hotel. But there was so much wrong I'll highlight just a few things and let the photos do some of the talking. The a/c unit was easily 20 years old, and very loud. The bathroom had been "remodeled" to fit in a bath tub by cutting the opening for the original shower by half it's size. Never seen anything like it. Ev-er. And there were little things: the shelf below the mirror in the bathroom was so slanted that everything slid off of it. There was a large cobweb waving away in a corner. The refrigerator was plugged into a wall outlet just about a foot from the a/c, and the outlet also supported an extension cord so that one of the wall sconces near the bed would have power. There's more but, honestly, this place needs to be completely renovated, probably down to the studs.

This place was DISGUSTING. Their rooms are unsanitary. I walked into to an unmade bed with urine and blood stained bedding. There were bugs crawling all over the room. This place double charged me for this filthy, contaminated room and is refusing to give my money back. Do not stay here here unless you want to take home bedbugs or catch an infection due to the uncleanliness of the rooms.

Terrible smell, hole in bathroom door, stained sheets

The floor was filthy and sticky. However the bathroom was clean and usable, and that's what I really wanted. The staff was friendly. It was what I paid for.
