Bayside Villas by Islander Resort

Frigo fuyait, il n’y avait pas de glaçons et le lave vaisselle ne fonctionnait pas et 2 cafards se sont invités dans le salon.

Great location. Really comfortable beds and bathrooms had clearly had an upgrade. Lovely and quiet but close to everything. We did have a bay view property though, room 114, but I’m not sure how affected by traffic noise you would be if closer to the road. Staff and housekeeping friendly and helpful. You can also use the islander resort which is about a 5 min drive down the road on the beachside. Lovely pool there, crazy golf, kayaks, boules and restaurants.

I think the kitchen and lounging areas could be better equipped. When we arrived there was a big pool of water in the centre of the kitchen, we think from the freezer. We did inform the staff but I don’t think they could do anything other than replace the freezer and that didn’t happen. There wasnt enough of the same chairs. Couldn’t sit round the dining table together and the rest was a bit of a mishmash for the balconies. Only provided 3 mugs, crockery was sparse, provided washing up liquid but no cloths or scrubbers to clean anything. Cutlery was cheap and pretty flimsy. No kettle, tiny toaster. Not major issues just expected a little bit more quality when paying $4k for a week for 4 people. But maybe it’s the norm. Right next to our property there was an area that they were using as a bit of a dumping ground too which wasn’t pleasant. All that said the good bits were really good. The little pool area was a fabulous place to sit and watch the sunset and enjoy the local wildlife. Just a few tweaks here and there and it would be perfect.

The size of the apartment and relaxed vibe of the resort and area. The staff Carter and William were both very helpful and friendly.

The villas need a water refill station and would be good to have a towel rack to hang wet bathers after swimming in the pool.

The main hotel was lovely. But that's half a mile over the other side of the road

The villa seemed to have a musty smell. It was small and dark and didn't seem very welcoming. The pool outside was full of debris. The place just felt unkept. Then we discovered very large red ants in the bedroom, on the beds, in the bathroom. We left and got a refund. The lady Sarah on reception was really lovely and helpful. She even offered us rooms in the main hotel instead just unfortunately they didn't accommodate a family of 5 in one(which is why we booked the villa) so we went elsewhere. The hotel seemed lovely.

This place is wonderful! The pictures and description don't seem to be as good as it is...way over the expectations! We didn't know that you're allowed to use the whole beach resort from the Islander right across the street which is amazing! The kids had so much fun with the mini golf, beach volley, basketball, pools and the floaters in the ocean! The residence was beautiful, 2 floors with amazing view on the bay and very clean and well furnished. We'll definitely come back!

Everything was absolutely perfect

We loved our stay at Bayside Villas. We loved the access to both Bayside and Oceanside, the activities were great! Beautiful rooms, grounds! We will definitely return in the future.

We stayed at the bayside resort instead due to a bad smell in the villas rooms

We checked in to find that the Villa had a horrible smell of either mildew or mold. Very musty. Walls were touched up with paint that didn't match. One of the appliances was dinging with an alarm. I didn't even look around at anything else because of the smell! I was told they had been remodeled over the summer, but I could not imagine that they were. They were advertised as brand new, so we had booked two villas for our stay. We went to the service desk and ask for other rooms, but they told us they all smell the same. We purchase the room with the "Bay View" that we paid $1000 more than the other one. Don't waste your money! No view! They did accommodate us nicely at the Islander with very nice rooms and I gave them a good review!!!
