Staff and location were great

There was a group of noisy guests.. and i think I was mistakenly thought to be a part of the group and gently reminded to be quiet.. but at least the staff were aware of the noise and actively trying to fix rhe issue :)

The location was great, right in town.

When I arrived ifelt judged by the lady on the desk and that she was rudely abrupt and dismissive. I had just travelled 6 hours to Palmerston north and wanted a break before going the rest of the way home and had been at the hospital with a terminally ill family member. She alsoase me feel unwelcome with my 2 children and if there was more hotels with available rooms (the room I booked online was the only room available ) would of chosen to stay at another hotel as this isn't my first bad experience with kiwi studio. As we were leaving and giving the key back, the same lady who checked me in was checking me out. She ignored me ringing the bell to alert someone that there was someone waiting even though she was in a room loudly talking with another guest or employee she refused to acknowledge me standing in the carpark. It wasn't till another employee walking past called out to her that she finally came to the office.. I found some pills from a previous guest on my floor. I was travelling with my children who are 5yrs old and 1yrs old.. indicating that the room hadn't been vacuumed well even though the lady in the office said I couldn't grab the key to the room early as the rooms weren't ready and I was going to be busy for a few hours and it was easier for me to check in at the time. There was also food stains and some other stain on the underside of the duvet cover that I discovered as I was getting my children into bed.

Location was good

We did not have breakfast it was not part of the booking. Like the Handy location for the event we went for.

Loved the location. The beds were comfy and clean, the room was tidy, clean and spacious. The staff were lovely and accommodating for our needs.

Bedding and furniture were a little outdated, it would look awesome with an upgrade.
