the lodge was nice. the breakfast bucket had expired yogurt.

We were up 2 times in the night because mice were running around the lodge. they left mouse droppings in the bathroom on the towels...yuck

The Lodges at Gettysburg is located outside of Gettysburg, but only about five miles. It's very near battlefields, just a few miles away. The Lodges are so cute, and you get one all to yourself. We were able to park right outside our front door. The living area and kitchenette, with a fridge and microwave, are spacious, as is the bedroom and bathroom. We were in the Mississippi Lodge. There are two queen beds. There are plenty of pillows, extra blankets and towels. The ceilings are vaulted, which give the rooms a lovely openness. There are exposed beams and hardwood floors. The bathroom is done in a slate-like material. There is a walk-in shower. The bath towels are large and so fluffy! They were exceptional. You also get two bottles of water in the fridge. There are TVs in the living room and bedroom. Upon check-in, Nona was very pleasant and offered us information on the restaurant/tavern. We did eat dinner there, and it was very good. We had burgers and hand-cut fries and a peanut butter dessert. Our waitress, Nicey, was fantastic! The restaurant has a nice ambience, especially since it's Christmas time. It was quiet except for some screaming children at the lodge near us, but they finally shut their little gobs, and all was well. There are also beautiful views. We would definitely stay here again. And it was delightful to have an actual key to get into the lodge instead of a key card.

These are not anywhere near being deal breakers, but the shower drain needed some Drain-O, and the freezer needed to be defrosted. That's easily remedied. The front door in our lodge had a beautiful etched glass in it, but it doesn't offer privacy. Maybe a shade could be installed to pull down at night. Our lodge's front is facing mostly east, so the sun was shining very brightly through the glass. The floors are really creaky, so if someone is a light sleeper, that might be an issue. We had no issue with it.
