The gorgeous views of Madeira...

To start off, we booked a studio plus a 3 bedroom sea view villa, and we were grateful to be upgraded to a 5 bedroom villa where our group could stay together. The very first night we noticed the AC did not work, and we were told that a part needed to be imported, message response via booking.com. Each room had an individual AC unit but they were unable to provide us with remotes to turn on the individual ACs in the room. Instead Christina assured us we would be provided fans after complaining for the 5 rooms, they provided us 2 fans. The bedding was dirty, pillows stained yellow and bloody. None of the multiple TVs worked, possibly because the owner or property manager did not want to provide cable? Wifi did not work except on the main level of the house which was a huge inconvenience especially since the TVs did not work. Then there was the gorgeous pool which could not be used, we requested at the reception and then via booking.com and Sergio responded stating someone would come by to take a look at the jets and clean it up, and no one came. We spoke to Christina on the second day as we noticed upon arrival multiple issues and she assured us the deficiencies would be corrected, but unfortunately, it was one issue after another. Little things like only providing 2 dish towels, no shower curtain in the pink room, the broken shower holder in the second floor master which Christina was made aware of, the broken window screens which we notified Christina about which deterred us from opening the windows at night due to mosquitoes, stench from the bathrooms...just an absolute DISASTER. We would never stay at this property again, and it's an absolute shame because it's a gorgeous home with million dollar views. I feel sorry for the owner of this home because the property managers are not doing this home any justice...we booked at Palheiro village and we were given a home at Casa de Velho.

Beautiful location. Need to drive everywhere as it’s not close to downtown core and on a steep hillside. Had a car rental so that worked out well. Apartment with kitchen was great. Spacious.

The high quality finishes in the unit and the exceptional view.

Road traffic was loud at times.

Personnel helpful before our arrival. Wonderful attention to lush greenery, gardens were amazing. Apartment very well equipped (dishwasher, waching machine, cooking equipment, fair amount of plates, cutlery, etc.). Rooms spacious, clean, comfy. Curtains kept the light out very well even in late mornings. Nicely warm water in swimming pool (kids and adults loved it). Fabulous sea views from the apartment and the terraces. Parking right next to the apartment.

We did not know that the every day cleaning is not part of the accommodation in Palheiro Village. After 3-4 days we found our beds done. Next days no cleaning performed, no clean towels, hence we asked the reception. Receptionist mentioned he would send someone. When no one arrived I got the information that cleaning was included once in 7 days. The cleaning lady said they were obliged to tidy each 3 days. Anyways, we kept our rooms clean but I cannot imagine this non-systematic cleaning for a family with small children. The bar at swimming pool was never open. We asked the reception for golf trainings. The trainer was supposed to call us back which has never happened. If you travel to Madeira for the first time, don't expect to get any tips of what to see/do from the hotel staff.

We had ants in the kitchen but a simple phone call and they came to sort the issue using non toxic products

The view offered compared to what we received was extremely disappointing.
