The location, the host, breakfast….everything

Beautiful view! lovely rooms. Great staff. Excellent location to shops and penguins and Boulder beach. Closest stay to Cape Point park, ostrich farm, Cape of Good Hope. safe and secure. good breakfast. big thumbs up and would definitely stay there again. easy to drive around town and sites.

a bit tricky to find with gps. uber is hard to get in that area. we rented a car which was a BRILLIANT idea.

Beautiful guest house and great hospitality! Thank you to Liesel and her team for a wonderful stay! We received a friendly welcome by Mandy, who showed us around and gave great recommendations on where to eat and things to do. Our room was spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated, with a balcony and views of the Harbour and False Bay. We appreciated the kitchenette with bar fridge and microwave, which we used when we didn't feel like going out. Everything is well maintained with attention to detail. The breakfast was the best we've had at a guest house in a long time. They offer a Continental self-help buffet with freshly baked muffins, breads, cereals, yoghurts and fruits, and a menu with various hot breakfast options to order. We loved the "Pekish Penguin" with potato rosti, smoked salmon, and poached egg, as well as the "Mermaid" with French Toast bacon and syrup. The Expresso machine with complimentary coffee pods available to guests all day was handy, but I preferred the freshly ground coffee prepared for our table by the hostess in a French press. We loved Simon's Town with all its character and so much to do! We'll definitely stay at Mariner Guesthouse again.

Location

Room was double booked; did book the specific room half a year ago.. Lousy solution strategy which foremost suited their own business model. After a night in standard room we moved to the booked one. The breakfast was okay, certainly not great: coffee bad and no fresh bread. One bedroom was musty. The guesthouse seems to have had its time.
