Koh Chang Cliff Beach Resort

The location of this resort would be perfect as it has the private beach, the views and the pool on the cliff side. The beds are super comfortable and the views are second to none. That’s it though. Also be aware if you pick the rooms with a view that you are at the top of a very steep hill and there’s a lots of stairs or climbing either way!

This place was probably lovely 30 years ago. It feels like it’s being run down to close. Pretty much all the Sunbeds are broken in some way, the rooms are outdated and in need of new furniture and repair. The pool by the beach was very discoloured and a little slimy, it was questionable how clean it is. The staff tried their best but this place really wasn’t great. Everything needs ripping out and replacing. The grounds are not maintained. Beware of sitting under the coconut trees on the beach, 6 or 7 almost fell on a gentleman’s head whilst we were there which could have been pretty bad if they’d hit him, he probably wouldn’t be here to tell the tale. Breakfast was mediocre. The usual suspects of omelets, scrambled and fried eggs, toast, salads and fruits etc. they were tight in teabags and weren’t overly happy to give any extras out if we asked! The worst thing of all though is the noise from the walking street behind the hotel. This is not an exaggeration and we even moved rooms 2 nights in due to getting NO sleep whatsoever. The music vibrates through the buildings until 5 am EVERY NIGHT. All rooms have ear plugs in and now we know why. Not the hotels fault but we went for a rest and didn’t get much. We would never stay again in a million years, what a waste of money, we found cheaper and better nearby and wish we’d moved on.

Fantastic location and quiet private beach

Facities are perfect as are the staff. The superior ocean view is amazing. A clear unobstructed view of the ocean and pleant lf space to just lounge and listen to the waves. I loved this place.

A little loud late at night as location is close to walking street.

Eigentlich nichts

I’ve given this hotel a lot of thought and the word ‘enigma’ comes to mind. My time here improved immensely two days into my stay when I finally got the room I had booked. This room was exceptional just what I wanted it was very comfortable and the view was incredible. The staff are wonderful and a credit to the hotel.

The first two nights were marred by noise emanating from a nearby ‘bar’ outside the hotel area. This appeared to create as much frustration to the hotel management as it did for ourselves. hence the need for the ‘complementary’ earplugs. However on changing rooms the noise markedly reduced. The hotel in general is overdue some maintenance. The breakfast was limited but what was available was good, there was a lot of steps to the beach,the pool is lovely but the area around it is in need of maintenance. Would I stay again?
