We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at Villa Batalha, having booked on line. This is a great hotel in a small town. It has generous sized rooms and bathrooms, with plenty of large public sitting areas. The magnificent Batalha Monastery is within walking distance.

Surprisingly very modern hotel in such a historic old area. Perfect stop on a road trip because there's no need to leave the hotel. We had a wonderful dinner here in the buffet breakfast was plentiful. Very comfortable rooms and beds with beautiful bathrooms including roomie tiled showers and bidets. Lots of outlets thoughtfully place for easy access for charging technology. Great pillows. Everything about the rooms was well designed Warning, it's also very popular with bus loads of tour groups, so try to get to meals before a huge group sweeps in on it, the breakfast buffet was like watching ants at a picnic ...

"Amazing"

Amazing hotel with amazing staff! Would easily stay again. Our room was huge with lots of space the bed was very large as well. However the TV was not great only had a few channels that actually worked but spoke to the reception about this and they are to bring a new system in soon to get a better channels for their clients. Shame only indoor pool as well because they is a huge space on the roof or in the back that could have an out door pool which would complete this amazing hotel! I will be staying here again on next visit to Portugal

"Good hotel let down by very firm bed."

My wife and me used the hotel as a base to visit this town and the surrounding area. Modern hotel with ample free parking, pool, jacuzzi etc. tennis court and facilities for golfers (pitch & putt). The continental breakfast was good. We eat in the restaurant one evening. The menu and wine list was reasonable both in price and selection. I must say the quality of the meal was very good but because so few were using the dining area it lacked atmosphere. Our only gripe was the bed was very firm (and we like a firm bed) to the point of being uncomfortable, thus not a good night's sleep. All the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.
