Sage Hotel Wollongong

Nice view to the golf course and ocean. The bed was comfy. I think the carpet had been steam cleaned. Although it was dry it was very "stiff" underfoot. It was nice to have pod coffee to make in the morning. The fridge they provided really kept things very cold and the location was excellent for us as we had to catch a show at Centro CBD which meant we could walk there and back. Front of house staff really tried to be extra nice ..and they were. Breakfast was good but the filtered coffee was not. You have to pay for a barista coffee so I went without. Car parking was free across the road on the weekend.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Sage and we will look elsewhere next time. The last time we were there was 2 years ago and we had hoped that they would have attended to the scuff marks all over the skirting boards and walls in the passageway to our room. The entry door to all rooms are badly scratched and just contributed to the overall ( forgive me) BOGUN feel of the hotel. Honestly. I can not understand how people can be so reckless and disrespect property but the Sage does not even address the problem as all doors, all skirting boards and all walls had scuff marks - although you could see an attempt at the plasterboard walls were painted over. IN all the hotels I have stayed at this is particular to the Sage! Also, the bathroom choice of tiles makes it feel like a public toilet and there is no power point near the basin if you want to shave or dry your hair. It is on the other side of the bathroom so if you have to dry your hair or curl your hair with a curling wand, you have to stand over the toilet and rest your hair gear on the closed toilet seat. I managed...Shower pressure was good however and towels have been well used and not very fluffy.

Good location. Comfortable rooms. Lovely breakfast.

Check out is 10am. Cleaning staff came at 9:30 and let themselves in. I wasn’t quite ready to leave. She came in and started cleaning? I hadn’t planned on checking out until I needed too as I was getting picked up. Wasn’t really happy.

Location was fantastic, very convenient having a restaurant attached as well although we didn’t utilize it this time.

Fantastic location near parks and beach and walk in to town. Very clean and comfortable accommodation with fantastic facilities. Great concierge service. Will be back.

Additional cost of parking given it’s not cheap accommodation.
