Only positive was it’s close to the tower

We had stayed here before and we were looking forward to our stay however we were seriously disappointed so much so if we could have found somewhere else to stay we would have. The difference between our last stay and this one was like day and night, we realise the Bradbury isn’t a five star hotel but there were just so many things that could have made our stay so much better. We didn’t have breakfast the first morning as we overslept and no shower mat which was probably an oversight. We went out for the day on our second day as we were down to surprise our nephew for his 40th birthday so we were out all day and night celebrating with him and it was really late when we got back to the Bradbury only to find that we were locked out and our key to the main door wouldn’t open it so we pressed the ring doorbell as our phones had died so we couldn’t call the landlady unfortunately so after pressing the bell twice with no reply my husband banged the door twice and the landlady came to the door and was quite rude saying the door wasn’t locked but it clearly was and after five minutes the door magically opened, we apologised for disturbing her and asked what time breakfast was and retired to bed. We went for breakfast but it was a bit of a disaster, we were served pretty quickly however we both ordered eggs Benedict and ten minutes later the waitress came back and apologised as apparently she had gave our breakfast to another couple and they had run out of muffins so I opted for a full English and my husband had the eggs Benedict, we also asked for toast which only one of got. I said to my husband best not to say anything as we were leaving anyway and at that point we’d had enough.

The staff were pleasant and the tiles at the front of the hotel were nice.

Room 6 was not clean - thick dust on the canvas above bed, top of wardrobe and window ledges. - splashback in bathroom was dirty, the shower head was rusty, silicone sealant was either dirty or worn away, overall it was dirty - wall paper peeling off the wall, stains all over the yellow chair in the corner, marks on the walls which could easily be retouched with paint - we didn’t sleep well at all, husband slept in his clothes as he didn’t feel like it was clean - tiny tv in the top corner of the room with wires dangling and the tv remote was filthy The room could be lovely if retouched and properly cleaned but there isn’t attention to detail which lets it down so much. We didn’t stay for breakfast as we just wanted to leave. We can see from previous reviews that the owners don’t take any constructive criticism and just argue/deny other people’s comments so this will probably fall on deaf ears too but I really hope you take the comments on board to improve future guests experience.
