The Bowling Green Steakhouse Restaurant & Hotel

I have driven by the location of this hotel and never noticed it before. It is close to the M40, however the double glazing keeps out 90% of the noise. The room I was in had twin beds, the one I slept in was very comfortable and I had a good night's sleep. The food in the bar was very tasty, and the portions were a good size. Not one of those posh nosh places where your still hungry afterwards. Also the breakfast the following morning was lovely. The only drawback on the night I stayed was the internet was down. It was slightly annoying, as I did have work to do which meant I couldn't complete the days reports, but one of those things I guess. I would stay again, good room, good food and polite staff.

Regular overnight stop when on business in Banbury. If you want to be in the middle of town and all that entails, this is not the place for you. If you want friendly staff, comfortable rooms, good food and drink coupled with peace and quiet, free wifi and Sky Sports, then you can't go wrong.

This is a really nice hotel, located just outside Banbury. It was well located for Silverstone race track and for Banbury town centre. I stayed there for 2 nights and particularly enjoyed the breakfast. The staff were friendly and very amenable. I appreciated the fact the owners emailed the day before to say that the door would be locked so I needed to press the intercom in order to gain access. I knew what to expect when I arrived. The room was very clean and spacious. The bathroom was quite small, but it was usable. One downside was the wifi which kept cutting out. This might be because other guests were using it, but it did seem quite low speed. My main issue was with other guests, who were noisy! But the owners are not at fault. The restaurant is very busy, but space is always reserved for hotel guests, which I appreciated. The food was delicious. I would very much recommend this hotel as it was a lovely place to stay.

Basic hotel , basic meal , nice shower , basic breakfast .

Stayed before - not best location traffic wise if its hot but can't fault the premises, food, staff etc

Enjoyed our stay at the Bowling Green, the accomodation was clean, room a little on the small side, particularly the bathroom. The food at the Bowling Green was excellent and very good value, we dined in on 3 nights and were not disappointed by anything, also breakfast was very good. Overall an enjoyable and good value stay.

Excellent place to stay. Will certainly try to stay there next time I am in the area.
