Hanneman Holiday Residence

Great location - 5 minutes to beach and 5 minutes to shops.

I have now been at Hanneman Holiday Residence fifteen times now. I stay here because it is very friendly, has great accommodation, a nice clean pool, and all in all is a great place to stay roll on May 2024.

The destination of Seychelles for many people will be that out-of-reach, far too expensive, paradise destination that can only be achieved as a once-in-a-lifetime experience such as a Honeymoon or anniversary present. Yet, by staying at Hanneman Holiday Residence, it doesn't have to be, as this property is probably Seychelles' best-kept secret and its most economical. Hanneman's location is ideally placed on the island. Just a short and easy 5-minute walk to one of the finest and most famous beaches in the entire Indian Ocean, Beau Vallon Beach. It is no problem that Hanneman's doesn't serve dinner or lunch, as there are dozens of some of Mahe's best eateries and takeaways just a walk away. But even then, if you fancy a night in your villa, they arrange a delicious local food delivery service on request. You can even cook your own barbeque! Breakfasts are optional but recommended as the chef cooks up a great start to the day and can make most things you ask for, from a fully cooked plate to delicious pancakes. The villas themselves are first-class for the tropics. We were a party of 5 (2 adults, 2 teenagers, and a 6 yr old) and had so much space in the duplex. The air conditioning and fans maintained the coolness needed and with a huge kitchen, open plan dining room and living room, three balconies, and two en suite bedrooms we never got in each other's way. I would recommend that you rent a car (again can be arranged through Hanneman's) and you can park securely right outside of your room. The pool is a good size and despite the residence being full at Easter time when we stayed, we were the only people in it for most of the time - it seemed like our own private pool. And that's the essence of Hanneman's, although there are a couple of penthouses and studios and four duplex's - the place is never crowded. The security is impeccable, with 24-hour security personnel (David and Joe are the night watchmen) and electronic keys to come in and out of the properties at all times. But although the facilities are more than one could ask for, it is the people (and kittens and turtles - more on that at the end) that make a place special. Hanneman's is run by the most affable, personable, friendly, and humourous guy you can imagine. Manfred, a former hotel manager himself, is on hand to offer advice or help with anything his guests need, whether it's administration enquiries or extra water for the room. It is well worth sitting down with him for a coffee or a glass of wine to listen to his stories of Seychelles and his experiences in life. He is backed up by Santale, who runs the property like clockwork in the relaxed manner that most guests would like on holiday. Add to them, their team of housekeepers who make the rooms immaculate each day, and their fantastic Chef make Hanneman's #1 in Mahe. A last word to the four-legged friends who add more personality to the place. At the time of writing, a group of friendly kittens lounge around and only approach guests who approach them. If like us, you feed them, prepare to have these curious kittens visit you at mealtimes waiting outside your door for food and cuddles. And last of all, are the family of turtles, all named after the staff at the Residence, who you can feed and watch in their pen when lounging by the pool or having breakfast. Hanneman's is your home from home in the Seychelles - and somewhere where you will be treated like royalty, without paying a royal price!

Some staff were very friendly. The 2 bedrooms penthouse was huge and nicely decorated. Nice swiming pool. But place not too adapted for people having walking difficulties. Not enough light on the road to the seaside at night

We were really surprise after reading all the positive reviews to arrive in a appartement like that. It was old There was almost no light, only one window with a big useless furniture in front of it There was a lot of humidity with a terrible smell ABSOLUTELY NOT CLEAN ! (See the pictures) - the floor was covered with hair and dust, won't even talk about the corners - there was mold in the bathroom - the furniture and counters were filthy (I should have take the cleaning paper I used in picture 🤢) - all the equipment like microwave and toaster were probably never cleaned - there were dirty spots, hairs and one dead bug in the sheet 🤢 Owner adorable, good location, spacious appartement but clearly that all this place has, everything else is terrible, especially for 180€ /night ! We are glad we booked only one night, it was our last, what a last impression of the Seychelles...

ATTENTION les avis sur Google ne reflètent pas du tout la réalité. Nous n'avions jamais vu un logement aussi sale (voir photos) , humide, sombre et mal odorant. Les draps aussi étaient dégoûtants, j'ai dû aller demander des draps propres pour refaire le lit moi-même ! J'ai payé 180€ la nuit pour ce logement, c'est inadmissible ! Seul point positif le propriétaire est gentil, mais ça ne suffit pas. Notre taxi nous a dit que plusieurs clients avaient fait le même constat.

The only thing good about the property is that it’s spacious! The bad part is the endless amounts of ants in the restroom and I’m not sure if it was a roach or just some bug…the AC worked but blew out a weird smell the entire time we ran it…guy was nice upon check in but kinda sketchy and there were SO MANY CATS walking around!

The one thing that trumps anything else about the Hanneman is the staff. Chantelle and Manfred made our stay awesome! Thank you so much. They were super friendly and helpful, with little touches like giving us pancakes or bananas after diving or letting us stay by the pool as we had a late flight. Our room was fairly basic, but they do have some amazing suites also. Walking distance to the beach is a major bonus!

It was our 4th time at Hanneman, and again we were not disappointed. Wonderful spacious self-catering in a hidden and secure area, 5 minutes walking to the beach. Again welcomed by Manfred and Santale who run this place already for ages. The place is really cheap for what you get, some 140m2 I suppose, main area and 2 detached bed rooms. They do also great breakfast at reasonable prices. In case you need anything, they support you, reserve tables at restaurants (e.g. highly recommended Perle Noire) or organise a rental car for some rupees. We will be back again, for sure!

Wonderful Large multi-room residence with beautiful views and an awesome location. The Hosts were exceptional and the amenities were terrific. I would definitely stay here again!
