NRMA Cairns Holiday Park

We stayed here twice on our way in and out of Cairns. There are some things this place does well. Other things, it could really improve upon. First, the cost is excellent. That, combined with proximity to the airport are likely the only reason you're staying here. The after hours check in and drop box for check out were both easy to follow and worked fine. The staff were also pleasant. Both at the front desk and the cleaner we interacted with were all friendly. Surprisingly, the best was also quite comfortable and the beds themselves were clean with clean sheets.

It's quite dirty. While the beds are clean, the floors and surfaces are not. The bathrooms were clean at times and less so at others (depends on the guests) and the same can be said about the shower facilities and communal microwave. I'm sure the cleaners are doing the best they can do keep on top of it all but it felt pretty grimey. While it's close to the airport (10 minute drive), it's not as close to town. Definitely not walkable. So a car is a necessity.

The same as my review for our first stay. The second time we stayed, our experience was the same. Maybe this room was ever so slightly cleaner but not by much.

Great if you just need a place to sleep and are a budget traveller. Nice environment around the accommodation, very quiet. Bathrooms and kitchen was kept clean

Unfortunately we had blood on our sheets at check in and was late so had to get new sheets the following night, staff were understanding and quick to fix it though.
