APA Hotel Kyoto Eki Horikawadori

I booked a smoking room accidentally. Staff helped us change the last night to a non-smoke room (other nights were fully booked).

Amazing

Second APA hotel in Japan on our travels, and I preferred it over the Osaka one we had stayed in Yes, small rooms, but that is not hidden from their online room descriptions, we thankfully had hand luggage and so suitcases, so thankfully to suitcase jenga required, and we didn't spend a huge amount of time in there. Breakfast was much better with a buffet than the last hotel we stayed in. Hot food could have been warmer, but it was nice having the option to chose what we wanted. Loved the fresh olive bread and granola each day. Me and my husband both tried our first onsen experience here and enjoyed it so much we went back every night, was a welcome distress after a day of walking round. Around 6pm was very busy, better to go earlier or later to avoid lots of people Good location for subway, trains as well as local restaurants and attractions.

The room is too small for 2 adults.

Very convenient for Kyoto station, about a 10 minute walk, just make sure you come out the correct exit - Google took us on a one hour tour of Kyoto. Very clean, friendly staff, small room but full of amenities

Good hotel, central but quiet location.

APA Hotel Eki Horikawadori rooms seemed smaller than other Japanese hotels. It was amazing how everything fit just perfectly in the room. We were on the 2nd floor and it was very noisy from the traffic and the trains. Otherwise it was a okay room. Next time I will request a higher floor to avoid the noise. Near Kyoto station.

Close to the train

The staffs are very helpful and polite. They shared their celebrations by providing a small gift with the guests as well, building a rapport between the staffs and guests in the hotel. I find this occasion is very rare from other hotels including in my own country. It was a pleasant experience. The only concern I have is the sharing of the washing machine. Most guests were feeling frustrated as there are only a few washing machines at 1 level only. I would suggest to provide a laundry service or information of the nearest coin laundry in the hotel area to the guests to avoid longer waiting time.
