Royal Beacon Hotel

Mix up on room booking was satisfactorily resolved and view over coast great from window. Very convienient location, overlooking beach and boats. Rooms really nead a refresh though.

Lovely sea view room was unexpected. Staff helpful, room clean and bed comfortable. Shower hot and strong.

Convenient to everything. Hotel very clean just a little dated. But we had a lovely stay and breakfast was lovely.

The property is a little tired but in a superb location. We were in the Courtyard extension and the walls seemed very thin as some late night revellers made a hell of a noise when returning to their rooms. Overall not bad.

Lovely night stay

Good experience, we were in a courtyard room , which was fine as we had two dogs. We brought our own crate out of courtesy , the hotel provided blanket , poo bags , treats and water bowl for our dogs- a nice touch The entrance to the stairway to the rooms was a bit tired , but no issue as it’s direct access from outside . The room was fine , had everything we needed . So happy We used the bar , it was ok too

The Royal Beacon has an old world charm which goes with its age (200?). Unfortunately the hotel has creaky floors which also match its age. Doors are sprung to close abruptly; picture hanging bumpers might reduce the annoyance of regularly slamming doors. The staff were pleasant and helpful.

Hotel up for sale, Needs major refurbishment, Plumbing is rubbish, And apparently closing in October.
