The Arundell

As on a previous stay the mattresses and pillows need improving . The mattresses should be properly sprung and not made out of foam material , and the pillows need to be of better quality ,either of down or synthetic.

Plenty of in site parking. Warm friendly welcome on arrival. We were upgraded to a garden view room with en-suite which both of which were incredibly roomy and comfortable. Lots of nice touches in the room including towelling robes, a radio, tea and coffee and complementary bottled water. The food choice, quality and service at both dinner and breakfast were also excellent. The Arundell proved to be the perfect stopover on the way to meet our family for a celebratory holiday get together in Cornwall. Well done all!

Above and beyond, are the only words that I can use to describe this wonderful hotel. The Arundel offers the finest Devon qualities and example of pure country life, as county life should be. It was an absolute privilege to stay at the Arundel and be included into the world of finest country living. The staff were attentive, going above and beyond to ensure our stay was as confortable and relaxing as possible . Thank you for allowing to share this wonderful experience.

Could only stay 1 night....work commitments

The property was very nicely themed, location is great and the staff were amazing and friendly. Food in the evening and breakfast were great! The room itself was clean and well prepared with a nice hand written note!

Our room (10) personally I don’t think should be used as a room due to the amount of noise that can be heard. Obviously staff can’t help how loud guests are at events etc which we totally understand. However, when they all went to bed staff were cleaning up, had music going, shouting to each other going up and down steps etc etc. Staff have a job to do and again, we totally get that but the room itself you can literally just hear everything, including what sounded like the kitchen. We didn’t get to sleep till around midnight. The stay was booked for my girlfriend’s birthday and I just felt a bit disappointed.

Excellent welcome, lovely room and great service throughout.

Breakfast was a little expensive but probably good value if you had the full amount. An option of a simple breakfast with just tea and toast for £5 each would have been good.

All staff we met were welcoming and friendly. Restaurant team, led by Mary, were especially helpful and efficient.
