Swiss-Belhotel Ambon

The hotel is very tired and weary and needs a complete overhaul with fit-out and finishes. When I left the 6th floor lift, I was completely overcome by the strong smell of stale cigarette smoke which didn’t improve when I entered the room. I asked the porter if there were any non-smoking floors and he said this was one of them. A room with an ashtray, belied this comment and with no openable windows there was no escape. It appeared never to have been renovated or refurbished since its construction. It was in a run-down area.

Good location, rooftop bar, good breakfast, helpful staff

Decor quite old, would benefit from minor uplift especially bathrooms, very thin walls between rooms can hear neighbours

the staff were very helpful and accommodating. They outlined a day walking tour for us which was nice . The hotel is centrally located and easy to find

the food in the sky bar was pretty bad but the view was great

Room was spacious and comfortable.

It’s related to the restaurant. Service was super slow even though they have more than 5-6 staff walking around with only 3 guests. My coffee took 30min to come. It happened twice in two different days.

Value for money!

Food in the restaurant was pretty average :(
