Ballina Motel

It was available.

It says we’re in Napier but you are definitely outside of town. We thought we were getting a kitchenette and while it did have a fridge, the only sink was in the bathroom. The was a low budget hotel but still charged for a moderate ranged hotel.

Great location in Taradale. Close to EIT and Taradale township. Good size rooms suitable for family. Two bathrooms were handy. Reception had a welcoming smile and very friendly. Affordable and comfortable.

The milk in fridge was outdated and had turned bad so unsure of how long it had been last checked or replenished. The bathroom window was missing a handle and one of the showers was missing a shelf to place soap on.

Location

Needs some repairs and maintenance. Broken toilet roll holder. Fridge needs a wipe down, blankets smelt a bit sweaty, and visibly marked. Shower over spa bath made access difficult for aging parent.

It was in a good location for us.

It was incredibly ran down and in need for some renovations. There was a tear in the net curtain by the balcony door. There were several stains on the carpet. The bathroom vanity unit's door didn't shut properly. There was bit missing from the same vanity unit. There was no plug for the bath. There was a small hole on the bedroom door where it had connected with the bedroom unit. I have several photos.

Location was brilliant we would stay again we were playing bowls at local club

Just stayed weekend of 30 to 1st Feb 2026. Have stayed there several times over the years. Greeted by a young lady dressed in track pants, TShirt, sandles in reception. Couldn't find our booking, kept suggesting other names that we may have been under. Finally found our booking and found our key. Entered Suite 2. No toilet roll holder, large rip in net curtains in the bedroom, a notice on wall above kitchen sink that you must clean your cups, glasses etc before departing.... really?? How hygienic is that relying on the last person's cleaning standards, shower head dripping during shower, toilet buttons not returning to position (we fixed that), wardrobe melteca door covering ripped, kitchen elements needed cleaning, 7x tiny milk tubs to use and not replaced on the 2nd day, bed not remade for our 2nd night, It appears the motel now has international owners and what was a good place to stay has gone backwards. We paid $161 per night
