Valle Paraizo

Amazing, beautiful cottage surrounded by trees and flowers, like in a tale. The host, Sofia is very kind and very helpful, we got all the neccesarry information and more. I hope we will visit this place again.

This is an amazing property on an estate with access to trails. A peaceful and quiet oasis. If you have a rental car this is a perfect location to take day trips from. We also stayed in Funchal and found the city a bit hectic and full of tourists. In hindsight a longer stay at Valle Paraizo would have been preferred. I hope we can return someday.

One of the best accomodations we've ever been privileged enough to stay at. Gorgeous surroundings, and it only gets more breathtaking when you walk along an actual "Levada". We had a great experience, the host was incredibly helpful, and the amenities were great. The room was wonderful, cozy, clean, and perfect to relax!!! Don't forget the morning guest (peacock) that come in our yard to say goodmorning and the lovely dogs that were an absolute pleasure to hang around with them!!! Great touch it was the freshly baked delicious bread as a welcoming gift. Definitely a must do if you are looking for a good time in Madeira!!!

Smell in the house ("old house" stale smell), not possible to ventilate as it is inside curtains, paddings...

The property is very aptly named. We certainly felt like we were in paradise valley, The gardens in springtime are full of colour and delightfully scented. Our garden was peaceful and private, perfect for relaxing and well equipped with garden furniture and sun loungers. You also have access to stroll around the extensive grounds and meet the peacocks. You can enjoy longer walks on the levada that borders the gardens. The 129 bus from Funchal stops outside, there's a big supermarket a short walk away and several good restaurants so you don't need a car.

A fantastic place. I did not search a place in the city but garden. Sounds of water streams and songs of birds in the morning. Almost no city lights in the night. I looked up at the night sky. The host was able to organize my rest with no face to face contact. But it was a warm welcome with homemade bread.

I had some issues with the fireplace.
