The room was modern and comfortable.

This is the 2nd time I stay at this hotel within the last 6 months. The staff is friendly. My room was smaller than the previous time but the the bathroom was modern and very spacious, and everything was clean. Breakfast is limited in western choice but there is the usual coffee/toasts/butter/eggs/bacon. The hotel is located in Wulin Square which is not too far from West Lake, but the hotel surroundings have nothing interesting and there is a lot of construction work at the moment. All in all, the hotel is a good value for money, with fairly modern and clean rooms. It is fairly central despite the fact that there is nothing to do or visit within a 10 min walking distance range.

Our stay at the Hangzhou Hotel was awesome. We had an issue when we first checked in though because we booked a room through hotels.com for one room for three people. However when we arrived they told us the room booked would only accommodate two people and that we would have to pay more for a rollaway bed or bigger room. After speaking with the manager though, he comped the rollaway bed and all was right in the world again. It was a beautiful hotel and the staff was amazing. We were able to walk to most places and it is located within a very nice shopping center. We would definitely stay there again.

The room was clean enough. The furniture was poorly selected. The air conditioner did NOT work. I called the front desk to inform them of the situation and they told me that it did work. They didn't come check and wouldn't change my room. So I spent the night with the window open right after Chinese New Year. Needless to say I got no sleep. Too many explosions all night long. Overall this place sucks. The only redeeming quality it had was its location to shops and restaurants. Do yourself a favor and stay at another 4 or 5 star hotel in the area. There ane quite a few within a couple of blocks.
