L’emplacement

The hotel is literally in front of the train station Lille Flandres, and a few minutes by walking to the city center. Both lines of the metro also stop at the station; further, there are plenty of restaurants in the area. So the location is just perfect to move around the city. The rooms are well-furnished, with some space to put clothes, a small desk, and a coffee machine (with 4 coffee cups offered). The breakfast has a good selection and is of good quality.

I list some aspects that someone might dislike: the area just in front of the train station is a bit loud in the evening (my room had windows towards the station). I could sleep well, but I imagine in summer leaving the windows open will be unpleasant. The room was not extremely clean, with dust for example on the desk. The hotel is in a small building and it clearly has to save space, for instance, the stairs and corridoirs are a little narrow and feel slightly claustrophobic. The only aspect I would complain: the bathroom is just very small and, in particular, the toilet is placed so close to the wall that it's basically impossible to sit properly (see the attached pic).
