Hotel Schloss Hertefeld

It's rare these days to find a hotel that's even better than it says on the tin. The pictures are NOT colour photo shopped...the rooms have NOT been shot in panoramic and it is a real castle with led lit driveway at night and lovely grounds to walk or play with kids (there is also a small petting zoo). A fab romantic getaway for couples or families with kids ...with amazing bedrooms, ensuite bathroom and separate sitting room-we were given a choice of two rooms. Ten mins taxi from Weeze airport(17 euro transfer). Ten mins walk from the village and train station of Weeze which has some nice shops, pubs and restaurants.Just under an hour and 17 euro for return day ticket by train to Düsseldorf and the Rhine.Great shopping, food, pubs, atmosphere and people. The owners were helpful from before we stayed and throughout our visit, going above and beyond on a Saturday night to organise check out and a very early taxi to the airport as well as getting gluten free bread at no extra cost and giving me the rest to the home! Personal breakfast time..., by candlelight in the vaulted dining room ...was a dream.The most relaxing weekend and we will be going back for sure. Could not recommend more highly and could easily pay double the price and still be value for money.

Nice castle, nothing in the nearby town.

This was just a one night stay, chosen because of location to the airport. The room was huge, bedroom, sitting room, bathroom. Loved the décor. Only complaint was it was chilly in the room even though the heaters were on. I would definitely stay here again. The town of Weeze is just around the corner, not sure if there was a walking path to if from the hotel or not because there's a little river in between hotel and town.

Needed an overnight stay ahead of early morning flight. Hotel is a beautiful old castle and very nicely turned into accommodation. The advertised shuttle bus turned out to be a taxi and was €20 which was a bit steep. Would be a nice place to spend a weekend.

1 января мы вылетали из аэропорта Дюссельдорф/Веце и поэтому ночевали накануне в ближайшем к этому аэропорту отеле. Получилось, что Новый год встретили в старинном доме. Номер комфортный, есть все необходимое, ванная комната суперсовременная, что было сюрпризом в таком строении. В отеле есть своя изюминка. Хозяева очень гостеприимные, встретили на ж/д станции. Завтрак очень красиво обставлен, обслуживает сама хозяйка. Одним словом, нам очень понравилось. Если занесет еще раз в тот аэропорт, не раздумывая остановимся здесь снова

Dovevo prendere un aero al mattino e mi sono fermato a Weeze per pernottamento.

sehr persönlicher Service durch einen echten Grafen sicherlich ungewöhnlich und gediegen - super für die Leute, die abseits von Trubel und Designerhotels für eine kurze Zeit in die Geschichte eines Schlosses eintauchen und zwischen Antiquitäten nächtigen wollen. Weder Mini- noch Maxi-Bar. Aber der Graf hat mir ein Bier aus seinem Kühlschrank geholt.

Einmal was anders. Unsere Zimmer war mit antik Möbel ausgestattet und sehr gemütlich. Die Lage ist herrlich. Abgesehen von Kirchenglocken die mann jede halbe Stunde hört sehr ruhig. Umgebung sehr schön. Für Kinder ist direkt vor dem Hotel große Spielplatz und Tiergehege. Werde ich bestimmt wieder kommen.

A stunning hotel in a beautiful location! We were warmly welcomed, shown to our room and other facilities of the hotel and recommended places to go for dinner. We stayed at the Eulenzimmer (owls room), which comes with a grand four poster bed, extra single bed and the bathroom features a roll top bath and separate walk in shower. A vast, tasty and lovingly presented continental breakfast was served in the Gewölbe (vault under the castle's great hall). We had a wonderful stay and found it good value for money.

Staying over for next days flight,this hotel has a perfect location for Weeze airport. And you feel very special with the beautiful rooms - and a breakfast, which is second to none!. I really enjoyed it and will return for sure.
