Denison Boutique Hotel

The room was clean as always, and the decor is lovely. The building has a great historical feel and it is a total vibe.

We booked a room as we always do with the understanding (from the advertisements and photos) that there is a spa. The room we were given had a spa, but it turned out the spa was not functioning. When raised with the office person on duty, we were met with a deadpan story about plumbers and office renovations with very little concern that there was an issue with our stay. We were told if we wanted a spa, we need to actually write it in the request... on a room advertised with a spa. We suggested a small discount on the stay as some of the features paid for were not available, or perhaps the opportunity to have a small discount on a future stay and were flatly told "sorry, you pre-booked and we don't refund under our policy". The entire draw for us was the room and spa for a special night out, we could have had a bed by paying less money for an uber ride home if we weren't getting the spa.

The room smelt musty, hole on the toilet wall was clear proof that the staff knew the spa didn't work. Not a staffer to be seen, reception was closed when we arrived at 3 in the afternoon so there was nobody to complain to, just had to stay in a shifty room. Paper coffee cups, budget. Bath didn't drain

Not recommended.

Bed was comfortable and the pillow was perfect for me. Couch wasn't the most comfortable. Supplies were plentiful. Breakfast was average.
