"Great accommodation experience"

We stayed at Northgate Motor Lodge over the weekend (Room 17) and it genuinely exceeded my expectations. From the moment we walked in, the room was spotless. Not just “quick tidy” clean — properly clean. The attention to detail was obvious, and everything felt fresh and well looked after. The bed was super comfy — one of those rare motel beds where you actually sleep properly and don’t wake up stiff. Crisp linen, supportive mattress, and just overall very comfortable. Room 17 was quiet, tidy, and had everything we needed for a relaxed stay. It felt practical but still welcoming — not tired or dated. You can tell the owners take pride in maintaining the property. If you’re looking for somewhere clean, comfortable, and reliable to stay in New Plymouth, I would absolutely recommend it. We’d happily stay again.

The Manager was very welcoming and gave us a brief information on what to see and do around New Plymouth. The room was adequate for two of us. The bed was comfortable and nice sheets. It was clean and fresh.

Room was clean. The man was welcoming, friendly and helpful.

The water in the spa pool was too hot! We couldn't stay in there for long.
