I felt the shower was slick. Needs grip

It’s almost midnight. We just drove over 6 hours to the aloft in tapestry park. I spoke to Michael Waldrop at the Jacksonville Aloft on December 17th. I specified I would have two dogs and one cat. I called because I had to rush to Miami from atlanta as my mom’s Alzheimer’s had gotten worse hence the last minute overnight stay. Michael at Aloft’s reception says no problem. Said he checked the policy and it should be no issue whatsoever. Come on by. Great! I JUST ARRIVED AND WE WERE TOLD OUR RESERVATION WAS CANCELLED BECAUSE THEY DONT ACCEPT CATS. No one called us. No one said a damn thing. Turns out an email was sent which was in our spam — nevertheless, I hadn’t checked emails all day because dealing with a parent’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis and packing 3 pets will derail you and keep you busy. So now, midnight, we have nowhere to go. We are in the car scrambling and I want to cry.

Just checked out after a two night stay. First morning was perfectly fine; 2nd wasn’t. The water temperature in the shower, sink, and even toilet was scalding hot. No matter what direction you turned the dials there water temperature remained hot, to the point I wasn’t even able to take a shower, it was that bad. I had an early flight so figured I would just shower when I got home. On the way out I mentioned the issue to the front desk guy [clearly an overnight worker just holding down the fort]. As soon as I mentioned a strange issue he responded with “the water temperature, yeah, we know about it. Been going on for 2 weeks now. Sometimes it’s burning hot, other times it’s perfectly fine. We can’t seem to figure it out”. So you knew about this and didn’t tell anyone? Holy cow! Guy really didn’t seem to care about it and i needed to get on my way. No apologies, no discount, no offer of points, nothing. More importantly, this is a pretty big safety issue. The water was so hot i couldn’t even wash my hands it in…a child could have easily scaled end themselves. Aloft needs to do much, much better!
