I liked the old world charm of Southern Cross, and the relaxed, friendly atmosphere. The bed was comfortable, and there were some nice touches such as strawberries to put on our cereal at breakfast, home-made marmalade, and nice biscuits on the tea tray in our room. We appreciated these.

Door on the bathroom door needs to be addressed as very stiff and kept getting caught on the door frame. Shower not very powerful and took a while to reach temperature. Apart from that stay was good, bed was comfortable, room was spacious.
This is a quirky and quaint guest house with comfortable rooms and clean bathrooms. It is an old building so some floors are uneven and the stairs are steep. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was lovely. The guest house is famous in the area for its cream teas and although we didn’t have time to stay for one, they looked delicious. We had a very comfortable night and would happily stay again.
