Beautiful scenery overlooking loch Aboyne. Very close to Aboyne.
The lodge’s location was great right on the lake but the town was very small with only essential shops and few pubs and restaurants. The room was clean and had basic amenities but it wasnt value for money. The hotel is staffed by 2-3 elderly people who are very nice and friendly. Bar is very well stocked. Eating options are severely limited in hotel and in the area especially for vegetarians.
Our room was musty and felt like it had not been opened up in a long while. The hallways were dark giving the impression that the proprietor was trying to save money on electricity.The whole place had a sense of "going out of business". Given that this is the beginning of July (high season for tourists) there were only three couples in total (inlcuding us) in the whole place.
Very peaceful, quiet and comfortable. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great too. There was no AC, but it did cool down sufficiently at night. Thanks for a great stay!
The couple that run the Lodge on the Loch couldnt have been any nicer and helpful! The breakfast was lovley the dinner was pefect and the location was amazing!! We will be returning!
The Lodge on the Loch is really not very well known or advertised , but it is a wonderful place to stay and I would highly recommend it. The place is beautiful, the owners are wonderful and everything about the Lodge is just about as good as it gets.....

What can I say? Absolutely wonderful, a total gem with views from my room you could only dream of. It's out of the way, very quiet with fantastic friendly owners, great food and a top selection of drink. I loved the place and would recommend it in a heartbeat and definitely aim to be back whenever I can
