Breakas Beach Resort

if you want White Sands, Gorgeous Vanuatu South Pacific Beach hut setup , amazing cocktails and 100% safety then THIS place is for you. My beach hut was clean, had all I required, I could walk barefoot throughout the property. The food was first class especially the Fish Salad ( Dairy free) at lunch- that was like the best ceviche I ever had. The cocktails that Jack made were divine....Best Pina Coladas! ( Dairy Free) All the staff we so kind, helpful, and really genuinely friendly even the Security guys... I loved the safety aspect travelling alone, I felt comfortable and safe even walking around the village, totally amazing The beach was gorgeous and the ocean too. Loved that there was free water-sports too. This is a GREAT place for surfers...definitely need to advertise that more in your brochures. They were out there daily surfing on amazing waves! the Island is fabulous you can find a driver to take you around - I paid 18,000 Vatu to drive all the way around . it took 6 hrs including a lunch stop. Taxis from the airport are 3000- 3500 Vatu so do bring cash ( TIP dont wait to get vatu out at the airport as there is a big queue for the ONE cash machine on arrivals - do it at exchange in Australia/ New Zealand before you land if I were you)

These are SMALL issues , Im simply filling this section out as you have also asked for my feedback and I beleive with feedback a place only gets better after all : So I guess as you are on a beach , you are bound to come across the natural wildlife so there are cockroaches, geckos, crabs etc that can get into your room so just be sure to keep the door closed. Also I found a Cockroach in my suitcase 2 days after I had left Vanuatu- LOL they get everywhere!!! It would have been nice to be told at Reception about beach towels, also that all watersports are free, instead I only found this out by asking on Days 3 onwards. The Welcome meeting was 30 mins late and only happened because I went to remind them I was waiting for it. There was not a lot of dairy FREE food, no dairy free desserts for the Melanesia night and even the main dinner didnt have dairy free options so was a bit harder but I was impressed they DID have almond milk served at Breakfast.

Pool was ok. Staff were friendly but just not very efficient

Room was awful, tiny, bad mosquito issues as bathroom is open air, smoke at night from villages down the road was horrendous during the night. You could not escape it as the roof line is all open just with fly screens. Reviews of this property I read beforehand did not give any indication of these issues. We were very disappointed in this resort. Staff were very lax in their duties, took forever to clean our room and then said they would bring our cases down, they took ages so we went and got them ourselves in the end. Paid a lot for a lobster mornay for dinner and got a grilled lobster with just chips and small salad.

It felt like glamping in a fun way. The food was fantastic and the staff were lovely. There were sandy paths everywhere, so we embraced it and threw off the shoes and went with it, it was a lovely relaxing way to finish our holiday.

Weather was awful those 2 days, but nothing to do with hotel.. Haha. We did miss an air con and TV, but in the end, it was kind of nice, just lucky it wasn't too hot, cos the fan wasn't much chop.

Liked the dinner on the beach

Service was really poor. Not helpful at all, didn’t even show us to our room. No wifi in rooms. Dinner was lovely but was served during the fire show so it sat there cold for an hour as it was too dark to eat. Massage lady was 15 mins late and just hit my back …. Even had another staff member walk in and start chatting? No staff were helpful at all in showing us where things were etc. really disappointing service for what we payed and was supposed to be our “fancy” hotel- we ended up leaving 2 days early and going back to erakor resort

Beach needs to be made accessible. No airconditioning in the room, which makes even sheets feel dump. Hotel is too expensive for what it is. 3% additional charge for card payment is unacceptable.
