"Best Hotel Beds Ever!"

8.0

Lovely people, great building, would have like some vegetarian food options on the menu. The bed and linen was the absolute best as were the provided toiletries.

"Just what we wanted"

10.0

This hotel was recommended to me by a friend whose opinion I trust. Despite that, we were very agreeably surprised by how pleasant our short stay was. The principal thing for us was the fact that, despite being in a suburb of a large city like Bordeaux, the main impression was of relaxing quietly in the countryside, as you are surrounded by leafy park land. The hotel was clean, the staff smiling and willing, and the restaurant was very enjoyable. It's a little way from the centre if that's where you want to go, but fairly close to the ring road to the airport. All in all, a very worth-while find.

"Total peace and quiet, yet near Bordeaux"

10.0

What a wonderful stay! Everything about the hotel is great- the small chateaux itself, the garden, the delicious restaurant, our bedroom and the personel. I shall start with the food - we had not planned to eat in every night but that is what we did because it is so delicious and beautifully presented and served with care. Wines are well married to the meals - the guy advising is knows what to suggest. We had the standard room, which although small was very comfortable with a 19 th century fireplace and parquet flooring (the chateaux was built by a famous architect apparantly, 19 th Century features still show). The peace and quiet of the place is what most surprised us, and was very appreciated, because we were nevertheless close to Bordeaux (about a quarter of an hours drive). We look forward to returning with the rest of the family next time

Trevligt och lugnt, tyvärr lite långt in till Bordeaux. Nesspresso alldeles för dyr.

"Far away, average chateau"

6.0

We were willing to stay far away from the center of Bordeaux for a special chateau experience - unique, romantic, beautiful and special, but in the end our experience was average at best. Also, the location was't good at all. It wasn't only far from Bordeaux but in the middle of a university village with nothing around and not very nice at all. The property is average looking, the grounds unspectacular and the service isn't special either. The staff wasn't very helpful or knowledgable. At least the room was decent, clean and of good size, especially relative to other European hotels. I'll at least give them good value for the price we paid.

"Shame the service spoilt a lovely hotel"

6.0

We - 3 couples - visited the pavilion for the second time. A fantastic pavilion with the old chateau falling down next door (shame but obviously not the hotel's fault!) Check in was fine - rooms are very good and clean. We surmise that there are enough staff - we went up to the upper terrace when we arrived and no one came to offer us drinks. Had to search out a member of staff. It had rained the day before (not that day) and although the furniture should have protected the seat covers they did not protect them all. Some of the seat covers were very wet, entailing quite a laugh but annoyance as well with wet bottoms! Later we had drinks and then went on the lower terrace for dinner - again a wet bottom for one of us! Why hadn't the staff checked the seat pads? We had to go searching for the staff to order more wine. Not much service for pouring wine throughout the evening. Food, however, was good. What a shame - a lovely place ruined by very poor service. Will not return. Although not the hotel's fault, it is in the middle of an industrial estate - quite difficult to find (easy for us this time - but took us ages with many phone calls the first time we visited). However, it is very quiet once you are there.

"Beautiful building"

8.0

A beautiful and very impressive building set in a small wood, close to the ringroad motorway around Bordeaux but without any traffic noise. Birdsong and very calm. Gardens aren't particularly attractive and not landscaped though. Friendly welcome, and we were given a complimentary upgrade to what the hotel classes as a suite: although I think it's really more a very large room. The safe in our room didn't work and we were offered a different room instead if we needed the safe, or they offered to store our valuables in their own safe - which we did. The building has mainly been done out to a high standard, but there are minor elements where I think they fall short. All-in-all, a lovely place to stay and the dinner we had there was delicious. My only gripe really would be that the breakfast, not included in the room rate, is very very expensive at EUR17 per person for, basically, cheap croissants, bread, coffee and a couple of cereals. But then again, you don't have to have it!

"Etablissement remarquable, discret"

10.0

Bravo.
