For people elderly or reduced mobility the staircase to the first floor was very difficult--a stair rail would make a big difference !. On the same subject there is a small step from the bathroom to the bedroom, it is black and is easy to miss- a white line would help along the edge ! The hotel was closed and we had to phone to be greeted, Maybe Booking . com's fault but the two contact numbers could not be reached, luckily there was a phone number on the entrance which did work.

Nice location next to estuary bridge that has amazing tides to watch. Casual restaurant across the street was very pleasant for outdoor meal of local Moules Frites. They had a small space to store our bikes and the room was nice. Breakfast was nice in the restaurant on the ground floor. It was an atmospheric location at sunset and quiet.

It felt a bit like we were an afterthought for the owners (maybe end of season burnout) and communication was tough, despite giving an estimated arrival time, and calling 10 minutes away on our bicycles, they asked us to call again when we arrived. We arrived less than 10 minutes later and then called twice to no answer and waited another 10 minutes to be told they would be there shortly. We understand small hotels/guest houses can’t be there for you always but please tell us that and we’d be content waiting a bit. It was also very unclear about whether the restaurant was open (it was not on our Thursday night, despite online listing stating it was, and asking about dinner in message requests on Booking). We didn’t love glass shower and internet didn’t ever work for us, (But Orange France SIM was ok)
