Hotell Stella

Though the room was nice, the management and staff were simply horrible!!!!! There was a seemingly nice man who received the telephone calls. I thought I would be early and asked if I could check in early. He said it would cost 100 sek. I said fine but due to travel delays I was there at 3:30pm. The room which had been verified to cost 900sek suddenly became 1300 upon arrival plus the 100 for being early which I then wasn't. I argued about the price, said I could send him a copy of the 900 sek price he promised but this was over the telephone because he couldn't be bothered to run the place himself. Instead, there was a bumbling fool who could not speak swedish at all and his english was terrible. After a proper argument on the telephone, we agreed to pay 900 sek as promised. The fool at reception did not know how to even use the credit card machine. He made repeated calls to his 'boss' in order to receive payment. He then said all was fine and paid for so I went to my room. As stated the room was fine for the money. Later my friend received this message from the 'boss': See the phtotos below. Rude and insulting! So apparently my card was fumbled by the idiot running the hotel and I got the blame for try to 'cheat'them out of money. There was PLENTY of money on my card and if I were you, I would not bother to go there spend an extra 10 sek and go to a professional establishment. My friend paid the room and I then transfered money to her so we worked it out but BEWARE of this hotel!!!!!!

Vi betalade med ett annat kort vid incheckning än det vi använt för att säkra bokningen, och upptäckte av en slump att även kortet vi bokat med belastats.

Es ist nah am Zentrum, mit dem Bus vom Bahnhof gut erreichbar, Haltestelle direkt neben dem Hotel. Frühstück überraschend gross. Die Zimmer sind ruhig und sauber. Ich komme gerne wieder

Blev lite förvånad av att nycklarna lämnades helt öppet vis dörren men det verkade fungera. Trevlig personal och även om frukosten var enkel så var den god. Rekommenderar detta ställe för folk som back packar eller bara tänker stanna några dagar.

Billigt hotell med OK standard men inte mer. Duschen trillade ner varje gång man stängde av vattnet. Sängen var skön. Frukosten OK utan överdåd. Det tog mig tre veckor, tre mail och flera telefonsamtal för att få ett kvitto. När jag började tappa tålamodet blev hotellägaren kränkt. Tror jag väljer andra hotell i framtiden.

Helt okej rum, men madradd och kuddar kunde ha varit bättre! Har problem med min rygg.

Room is nice and cozy, and hotel layout is unique. Combined shower/toilet design helps save space. Hotel does not have a 24 hour desk, and after hours support is lacking. Hotel has transitioned to a digital key, and mine did not work a few days after check in, at 2 AM. After hours instructions are to dial a special number on the front door keypad which results in a very short time to talk to the after hours support. I was instructed to access the hotel safe to retrieve a digital yellow master key, after multiple redials. The safe was full of physical keys, but no digital keys! My door had no physical keyhole. Repeated calls to after hour support urged me to keep looking for a master key, until I gave up and just slept on a couch in the lobby. When the morning staff arrived at ~06:30, they had to wake up another guest to retrieve the master key from their room. Staff was able to get me a functional key hours later. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had in a hotel, and more importantly, my flight on my checkout day 2 days later would require me to leave the hotel before the morning staff arrived. I could not trust the hotel to maintain access to my belongings after hours, so I checked out and moved to a hotel with a 24 hour desk (the only reason booked Hotel Stella to begin with was because all others in the area were booked, but an opening came up). The new hotel was comparable price but much nicer for a similar price. Wish they would have had availability to begin with. I requested a refund of my unused nights from Hotel Stella and the owner blamed me for my experience. After multiple rounds of communication, he offered to reimburse me for the night I spent on the couch, but would not excuse me checking out early, calling my reasoning a "fantasy". This is a solid hotel, but beware the management!

More of a hostel than a hotel. Conflicting and erroneous information on the hotel’s website versus booking sites versus at the hotel, regarding reception hours, breakfast and parking. No breakfast for us, when we expected so. Dirty dishes as well as dirty ”clean” plates in the dining room, smell from the sewers in the shower room and didn’t see anyone working in the hotel (reception was closed, maybe for the weekend, seems strange in July). Very odd place, wish I had booked somewhere else.
