Casa Carmel Bed & Breakfast

Casa Carmel is a charming little gem right in the heart of Guatemala City. The property has been beautifully restored and feels thoughtfully updated while still maintaining its Guatemalan character. The rooms are an appropriate size — comfortable without feeling cramped. The water pressure and shower were excellent (always a win after travel), and the food was delicious. I especially appreciated how accommodating they were when I had to leave at a very early hour — they kindly allowed me to enjoy my “breakfast for dinner” the night before so I wouldn’t miss out. That level of hospitality really stood out.

The only small improvement would be the lighting in the room, which could be a bit brighter. Otherwise, everything about the stay was fantastic.

Being housed in a colonial building in Zona 1, the house itself is a highlight. I loved roaming through the halls and soaking up the history of the place. Every morning starts with a Desayuno Chapín, which was delicious, filling, and the perfect fuel for a day of exploring. The woman who takes care of the place (I forgot her name) is exceptionally helpful and kind, contributing to the overall "homey" feel of the stay. The B&B ‘s location in Zona 1 might find intimidate some travelers. However, the property itself feels very safe. As with any major city center, just take the usual precautions and avoid staying out late on foot.

Месторасположение очень хорошее - недалеко от старого города, пешеходной зоны. Фуайе - исторический интерьер, очень красиво. В фуайе наверху и внизу хороший интернет и удобные кресла. Милый персонал.

В комнате нет интернета, только около входной двери. Сутки не было горячей воды. Завтрак ла-ла, на любителя. Окно у нас выходило на улицу - было немного шумно.
